Hi, I;m in Aylesbury, had ds1 at SMH but hated it, was awful birth too! Had homebirth this time as was absolutely wonderful, cannot stress enough how much I enjoyed it, yes actually enjoyed! I was on such a high. Was only 2 1/2 hours to go from 4 cm to baby born! Fab Fab Fab.

You need to get tarpaulin rather than plastic sheet as they non slip. MW provides most other stuff. You can have gas n air and pethadine if you want, I got the pethadine but didn't use.

Tens machines are fab, had mine left on boost for last 20 mins!

Gave birth just 4 1/2 weeks ago but would have done it again the following day.

Not got time to chat now as just on internet quick, but had to have a quick say as you local ish!

Def do the HB if you can! PM me if you want to and will get back to you when I next on here.

Hi sarita, thanks for your reply. Had a long meeting with the midwife yesterday and am now officaly booked for a HB, got my pack etc.

Trying to think of eveything I need, MW is a vegi so have to get some snacks for her, and we've got cream carpets so sent DH to buy plastic sheeting, hopefully everything else will fall into place!

    37+5 so anytime now!!!

Hi,im not from your area but i have had a home birth. My 1st child i had at hospital and it was an awful experience all round(though im sure lots of hospitals are wonderful).Because of that i decided to have my 2nd baby at home.I found it was a lot calmer and relaxed. My midwife was present all the time for 1:1 attention and i felt thoroughly looked after.I did have a small bag packed but it wasn't even opened!I did put a sign on my front door saying BIRTH IN PROGRESS!! to get rid of unwanted door knocking. My advice is to relax about it as much as you can!!I had lots of things organised,ie,smelly candles, nice music ect,but i didn't use any of it!Because i was at home i just carried on as usual, which helped hugely as it kept my mind off what was happening(i plaited my dd hair for school through a contraction!).If you would like to know any thing particular, please reply.Good luck,x.
