Congratulations on your new arrival! So glad your hopital birth went well, shame you couldnt have your HB but your story sounds as close to a HB as it could possibly be!
Thanks for the heads up on the accupressure I've been starting to read a bit about it but I'll definately read more now

at 2.38am, Pepper-Mai weighing 7lb 2 oz, little sister for Paige-Marie 7 and Connie 2 1/2.
I was 12 days late, baby back to back, cervix thick and not ready, we were trying to avoid induction........so i had a shiatsu massage lady come round and teach my husband how to stimulate my pressure points using acupressure, we did this 3 times from 12 midday til bed time, went to sleep feeling nothing at midnight, awoke at 1 am contracting every 2 minutes!!!!
rang MW, no-one available to attend home delivery...... gutted, said, well i will stay here, no-one to get kids quickly anyway, she said ring back in a while she would see if she could shuffle things around, rang a friend, she came round for kids, rang back unit, and by this stage no change in the other 2 women who were labouring, but conractions now coming stronger, all pain in my pubic bone, very different to both my previous labours. decided if no gas and air here i would have to go to it! Plus DH was flapping about not getting our pool set up in time, which we now know he wouldn't have as i needed those back rubs!
They filled the pool as i was travelling in, my poor dh, on the duel carridgeway i am trying to climb in the back of the car, couldn't sit still, he is driving while trying to rub my back, then our hospital has a stupid roundabout bit, so i apparently screamed
'' just park the fooking car already!''
was like a scene from tv, me in front seat with my a*se against the window!
got into the ward they felt my stomach: baby in perfect position!!
2.15 am admitted
2.24 am got in pool
2.37 am water broke
2.38 am baby born with 2 pushes, i caught her myself and it was the most amazing thing ever!
2 little grazes, no stitches, no time even for them to give me an internal examination to check dilation or even to get in the second MW for delivery!
left in water for 35 mins to deliver placenta naturally,
left hosp at 5 am,
so even though no HB, feel elated, couldn't have asked for a better experience, MW was AMAZING, loved her, such a contrast from my previous experiences.
She is so gorgeous, breastfeeding well and i feel ok too! good luck to all those who want a home birth, and for those who go over dates, or baby is in a rubbish position deffinatley look into acupressure/accupunture, sure thats what worked for us!

How lovely!! Congratulations!
What a shame about not having a HB, but sounds like a wonderful experience.
