Congratulations! It sounds like a wonderful HB to me!
It's a reminder a I've never had a waterbirth (as they have been too quick and I've had to rely on hospitals to do the WB), that this time first twinge I'll be fillling the pool, lol!
Thanks for sharing your positive HB experience - after the day I've had I need to hear lots of positive stories

huge congrats on your homebirth hun.
i will second how fantastic it is to deliver at home. like you i labour fast and getting someone to come look after children and getting to hospital on time is a big issue. first homebirth was 3hours30 mins (mw got to me at 7cm dilated) second hb i know for sure i wouldnt have made it to hospital it was only lying down on my bed and positioning myself that stopped baby from arriving before the mw got there lol established labour time was 20 mins. i went from first pain-placenta in 2hrs30 mins midwife didnt get time to give me an internal.
both times i managed without pain relief and being at home in my own surroundings i firmly believe made that possible. was lovely for my other children to just stay in bed while i laboured and come in and meet their little sister when they woke up for school lol.

Had my first ds in a birth centre in a birthing pool. With ds2 had a home birth on 26/8(due date). Wasn't initially planning on home birth but all the hospitals and birthing centres were so far away so we investigated into homebirth. I am so glad we did as the whole labour took less than 1hour. I would never have made it into hospital. But it was a shame I didn't get to use the birthing pool as planned. I would highly recommend homebirth as it was nice to be able to be at home for your first feed and have your own bed to sleep in afterwards. I didn't need to use any painkillers apart from paracetamol which I took from the start of labour. Another bonus was that I didn't need any stitches although the baby came out with head and arm together.....
So much less stress having a homebirth because half of my stress came from am I going to make it to hospital in time.......

Congratulations, it sounds wonderful, well done to you & baby xXx
