Hi Steph, hope all going well - everyday your babs are getting bigger and stronger and am sure you will make it to around the 36 weeks stage.  Am sure Harvey will make a great big bro.  Since coming home from hospital Jack has had a couple of tantrums and has had to be put on naughty step - not sure if its because of babs or not but may be due to the fact he has always had our 100% attention and now he has to compete with his little bros.  I always try and give him attention when babs are asleep.

Whilst in hospital one night babs wouldnt settle so one of mw's advised to put them together in the cot which i did and at first was ok and worked but about an hour later looked in on them to find Luke the smallest of the twins was trying to stick his fingers in Bens eyes so have got them sleeping in their own moses baskets in our bedroom - one at my side of the bed and one an my hubbys.

The Boys feed every 3 hours so tend to get up several times in night.  cant wait until they are sleeping through as very tiring to have your sleep broked night after night.

I have my mum coming round often and my mum in law to help with chores as cant even hoover for 4 weeks as been told by mw - I do feel a lot better after this section than i did with first - maybe its because i was more prepared this time than last and knew more what to expect.

Hope you are well and speak soon.

Yeah I got an infection too in my c section scar with Harvey. Not nice but soon got sorted. Hoping it doesnt happen again this time. We still havent decided on names am afraid. Cant agree but have a few ideas.

Sounds like you have 3 adorable boys. I cant wait for that too. I think Harvey will make a great a big bro. Dont know what he will be like at first tho!! Hate the thought of leaving him when go into hospital. Just hope the babies dont arrive too early then im not away too long.

Where are your babies sleeping. Are they in moses baskets or in the cot together? Are they up a lot at night? And have you got any help? We are moving in with my mum for a few weeks when they arrive. Sorry lots of questions!!!

I will let you know how the scan goes, although dont know what they will come out with this time, as back at my local hospital who always tell me something that scares me!! When it gets checked at Newcastle they say its fine. All that worry for nothing.

Enjoy your day with your boys

    Steph

Thanks for that Steph, yeah not long to go for you too.  I do have a 2 year old Son also called Jack and he weighed 8lb 7oz when born so these two seem like little dolls compared to him but Luke who is the smallest is so full of energy and riggles all over the changing mat.  They say with twins there is always a domineering one and I think he def will be the one out of him and Ben.

My mw has just called to do my first check since coming home - the boys have both gained weight which is good.  I seem to have an infection in my scar so have been put on antibiotics.  I got an infection when I had Jack but the scar this time looks a lot angrier than last time but am sure antibiotics will sort it out.

Hope all goes well this week with your scan - keep me updated on progress.

Oh and by the way have you thought of any names yet for your boys?

yey congratulations joanne. so happy for you and your two boys. what brilliant weights they are and what lovely names you have picked. you have done really well and how nice having them beside you in the hospital. you sound happy to be home now with them. i cant wait for that. have been thinking of you and been on daily looking to see when you were home. now the fun really begins. i know who to ask for tips when its my turn!!

do you have other children, i cant remember??

30 weeks today. feel happy getting to that 30 week point. so blooming uncomfortable now. cant sleep properly as cant get comfortable and bump feels so heavy. seem to be getting braxton hicks quite a bit but had them for ages with my first little boy. i am back to my local hospital on friday for a scan then newcastle the week after. the babies seem to be doing fine. they were 2lb 9oz and 2lb 10oz last week. i am still awaiting my new c/section date. probably within the next 4 - 6 weeks i have been told depending on how they are doing. to be honest i just hope i can get that far and they dont run out of room before. time cant go quick enough, just want to hold my two boys as well. will keep you updated.

hope you all setting at home well. keep in touch and let me know the progress of the boys.

Hi Steph, cant believe home at last with my 2 little cherubs - i gave birth on the 18th june at 10.19am to Ben Alexander and 10.20am to Luke Arron.

Ben weighed in at 6lb 4ounces and Luke was 4lb 15ounces.

They both had to be put in incubators for a day as they wernt able to maintain good temp at first but always remained at the side of my bed.

Got home late yesterday pm - cant believe my babs are already 1 week old.

Would of been home sooner but Luke the smallest of the twins was having probs feeding so they had him monitored every 3 hours to see how much he was taking as really due to his weight he was just over the weight where he would have had to go to neonatal care but where happy for him to be monitored on ward with me and his bro.

How are things going with yourself.

Hope all is well and you too will be seeing your little babs - i was convinced i was having girls but am so happy with my 2 little princes

When I have downloaded my pics i will put them on my profile for you to see.

Hi Steph, finally some good news - so consultant today and my platelets have gone up a bit so are happy as things stand to have spinal instead of general and due to scan they did today consultant has advised that babies are literally lying on top of each other with very little room to move and so she said i could either have them out tomorrow morning or thurs afternoon - so i have opted to have them tomorrow.  I am very nervous at the moment and wont sleep a wink tonight - it is weird knowing that this time tomorrow i will have 2 more babs to look after but cant wait to find out what they are.

will post you again as soon as i get home.

Hi Joanne. You're doing really well. Not long now. I cant understand why they cant just let you know when and get on with it. Its such a big thing in your life and would be nice to get sorted in your head what is going on. I dont see either what 2 days difference is going to do, especially as you are so far on. I hope you get sorted tomorrow and can get to go in on Wednesday. Best of luck to you both, im sure in a few days time you will have two gorgeous babies.

    Let us know. Steph

Hi Steph,  got my blood results back today from mw who advised they had dropped again and my blood pressure has gone back up to 141/88 which she didnt seem to concerned about but that mixed with the low platelet count according to internet sites have visited is a sign of preeclampsia.  I have appt tomorrow to see consultant and she has taken bloods again today and depending on what the results are tomorrow they may get them out on Weds instead of friday but it is up to consultant.  Both me and hubby are going to stay strong and try and get them to take them out on Weds as I feel at this stage 37 weeks cant understand what the prob is by getting them out 2 days earlier than what has been booked.  sometimes i think we are just used as guinea pigs to see what happens in certain situations.

I said to mw if it means me being awake in theatre would rather get them out on weds than leave until friday and have to be put to sleep - but she is adamant that it is up to consultant tomorrow and anaethetist.

Sorry have moaned on a bit - hope all is well with yourself and your babs.

    speak to you soon

Hi Joanne. Just wondered if you had your blood results back today and if you had day for going in? Hope all ok. Good question too about whether or not you get your own room. I was wondering this myself. I had a room to myself at my first birth as had had a c/section and although at times it was a bit lonely, the nights were better as no one was waking me up and i had quite a bit of room for my stuff.

Anyway hope you doing ok. Not long now.

Hi Steph, thanks for that - this pregnancy seems to have gone on and on with all the complications of twin preg - my husband is looking into getting share in the car park at the local hospital as we never seem to be away what with one thing or another.

I hope you do get your date brought forward from 38 weeks as twin term is 37 weeks and if you are having section anyway cant understand why they want to leave us this long - my consultant the other day said he would prefer to leave to that time it was only me and my hubby asking if any chance of a 37 weeks delivery that got him to change his mind and now even he is thinking of getting them out a couple days early depending on blood results for clotting.

I will keep you posted on progress this week - hope all goes well for you with your next scan - keep me informed on progress.

Hi Joanne. Wow its going to be very soon for you then. Hope all is ok on Monday. Hope you dont have to have the general but whatever is best for the babies eh! I had a general for my first little boy by section and it is hard, but wouldnt hesitate to do it again if I had to. Am hoping to be awake this time!!

My scan went well yesterday. The consultant said that the fluid levels were more normal now than they were last week so things seem to be improving. Both babies doing well, weighing 2.5lb and 2.6lb. They checked my blood, bp and urine as I have started to swell slightly. All ok, get blood results next week. I have to go back next Friday again but if all is ok then we are going to discuss me going back to my local hospital. He also wants to bring my section forward from 19 Aug to the week before or possible two weeks before. Thank god!! Dont think I would make it until 38 weeks anyway!!

Well best of luck with everything for Monday and next week. Keep me informed. Am so excited for you finally going to be meeting your babies.

Hi Steph,  Just thought i would post to inform of possible preeclampsia so went to hospital where they tested blood as my blood pressure had raised quite a lot.  got bloods back and was told my platelets are too low.  they have retested today and will get the results on monday - registra who will perform section came to see me and said if they have dropped again then it is poss babs may be delivered on weds instead of friday as if they continue to fall and get to 80 i will have to have the section done under general and not spinal which i dont want as i want to be awake when they get babs out.

I dont know why they just dont admit me cos i have to go in on monday and then i have consultant and pre op on tuesday and no doubt they will prob have me monitored on weds and thurs as well just in case - registra said i have done really well to get to 36+2 as most id twins are born prem before this time.

Hope all is going well with yourself and will keep you informed on progress.

    Hi Joanne

What a nightmare. Hope they give you an earlier date. I hate it when you dont get to see your usually consultant and everything changes again! You must be getting really fed up now, cos I know I am and ive still got a way to go. I feel like I have done nothing but moan today! Feeling really tired and uncomfortable. Like you say getting some sleep at night isnt so easy. I know you shouldnt wish your time away but i do wish I was as far on as you. I cant wait to meet my boys.

Im back to Newcastle on Friday, so will let you know how it goes. Let me know what date you are going in and best of luck. Will be thinking of you.

    Hi Jane

Wow your doing well still working and having a 2 1/2 year old. I am exhausted just looking after my 18 month old. Luckily he still has a sleep for about 2 hours a day so can get my head down then.

Yeah we are lucky, I know what you mean. It may be harder carrying two but getting two babies at once will be amazing. Thats it for me after these two tho. Glad all is going well for you. Will post after scan on Friday. Fingers crossed xx

Steph 28 weeks today - hurray!!

    Hi Steph

I'm fine hun (well fine in comparison to you and your worries hun) only got work until the 26th June so wishing the days away, Having said that I've had a few days now where my dd has had no nap and as a energetic 2 1/2 year old can be i am exhausted. Just having a 30min head on a pillow when she does is enough to recharge the batteries until dh gets home to help out. She is such good fun though so I shouldn't complain. She's going to continue to go to nursery when I finish work so I'll have 9-2pm twice a week that allows me to put my feet up. Hopefully mum will halp out a little too but she's off to wimbledon and on holiday - alright for some hey!!

25 weeks this Friday so god knows how I am going to get to 38 weeks - sure it will fly by though. We are so lucky aren't we. It's still better getting this over in 1 pregnancy not two I reckon - I'm convincing myself of this anyway!!!

    Take care

    jane x
