    Hello,

I am pregnant with idenitical twin girls.  My aunt had idetical twin girls and my Mum's cousins were also idenitical twin girls.  I did hear that ideniticles aren't heriditory but it seems a bit too much of a coinsidence in my case.  There are non idenituicle twins on my partners side but I think its only inherited through the mother.  The consutlants I've seen have asked me if it's in the family.  Tis all a bit confusing really.

I was totally shocked to find oout there we're two bubs at my 12 weeks scan.  I feel really lucky now though.  Did suffer with sickenss and tiredness for the first 15 weeks.  Didn't know any different at first though as this is my first pregnancy.  Wasn't particularly big earlier on either.

    xx

    Love it!littleGG

sorry for crashing this board but i would LOVE twins...

I am pg with my first and already have a bump (not massive before size 12 with a little belly) but even my fiance said i have popped!

Both my parents are twins and we have other sets traced further back in the family, they tend to miss a generation which would indicate im 'odds on'!

just feeling VERY sick at the mo, but thankfully only been sick once!

sorry forgot to mention - my mum didnt know she was having twins until she had me and the midwife said come on you have another one here !!!  She had been sick a lot with my brother but felt fab when she was carrying us...

It was 33 years ago and they didnt have scans.  Midwife had said she was big but she could only feel one baby as we must have been  "cuddled upback to belly " she was told she had a lot of fluid !  We were born 10 mins apart. 6 weeks early.

hi I am an ID twin, my great grandmother on my mums side was ID twin also.... but Also my dad is a non id twin, he has several non id relatives in his side of the family too...our family tree is a very interesting read  -  twins all over the place but so far neither of my female cousins on either side have had any twins.  so it must be due to fall sometime soon

I heard that the father can only pass the jean down to his offspring and it only results in twins if there is twins on the female side of the family since its the egg that decides so to speak ! lol

I am still worried that I could fall for twins this time as my mum had a boy then a 5 year gap and had me and my sis.  I have a son, and 8 year gap and we are TTC now.......  it does worry me as I know what it was like growing up as a twin.  Going through school being thought of as  "The Twins" and it wasnt until high school when we were in different classes that we actually got treated as individuals !

Hi Ladies .. thats put my mind at reast a bit as i have been SOOOO SICK this time.. not actually sick but very ill all day. I also am MASSIVE .. im 9 weekds today and look about 5 months. Saw midwife on Tuesday and she said i was def big for dates and 1 )was i sure on dates ( which i am ) and 2) was there twins in the family!!

There is twins in the family but on DH side... his dad is an ID twin. So with this i was thinking maybe i could. But if you said its from the mothers side there is no way it could be is there..... UNLESS is the egg splitting which would be rare surley.

does that all make sence !! hahah

Ive only ever been pregnant with twins so cant compare, but with my ID twin girls I was really ill but was my first pregnancy didnt realise it was out of the ordinary, and i got a bump early on again didnt enter my mind. Im 16+5 with non id twins (boy and girl) and this pregnancy has actually been a lot easier i wasnt as sick but ive had lots of bleeding low BP causing fainting spells and im anemic. But il take all that over the sickness I had with the girls any day!

Theres no other twins in our family at all lol.

hi hun non id twins r hereditory but the gene that makes u releace more than 1 egg on a cycle is only passed thru the femail blood line id twins r non heraditory n can happen 2 any1 as its 1 egg splitting

i was tired but i didnt get the 'usual symptoms' of a multiple pregnancy. was feelingvery sick 24 hours a day but not actually sick often, didnt even loog preg till 25 weeks! only forund out it was twins at 15 weeks n didnt even suspect it b4 then!

    I have a questionpocahontas84

hi ladies i would just  like some info please, your probably all going to think im mad but it is driving me crazy the not knowing.

heres goes..... i have a DD who is 20months and recently found out i was pregnant again im about 8wks gone.when i was pregnant with DD i went to see a medium who picked up on this straight away and also asked if i wanted more children in the future, told her i did and she told me she could see me with twins next.

my mum lost twins before she fell pregnant with me and my biological father has since gone on to have twins with his partner/ex partener(have never met him have just heard)the twins my mum was carrying were my biological fathers

so my question is will there be signs if i was,at the moment its just the usual tired and needing the toilet alot.my mum said when she was carrying the twins she was very poorly with it.

im just really scared about having twins as harsh as it sounds i really only wanted one more child and i think i would struggle to accept it.sorry its long
