Hello Ladies,
Im breastfeeding my twins 3 weeks old. I am quite keen to express some milk as I would like to be able to get out and about in a few weeks and also we are moving house in 4 weeks and I want to be able to express so other people can help feed but im wondering how much i should try and express at a time. I can get about 1 oz in 3-5 mins (for the colief) but as im feeding 2 babies dont want the milk to run out fo them. When is the best time to express ? How much at any one time ?
Our son has developed colic and we need to give him colief in breastmilk before a feed and he was being sick so he also needs gaviscon in some water after a feed. (which he hates and screams the place down while taking both meds)
The other problem that I have is DP goes back to work in 2 weeks (on backshift 2-10) and im concerned as to how im going to cope getting both fed on my own esp with the medicines. Im thinking about aksing the doctor is there is any other way to give the meds.
Any advice would be appreciated ?

hi, i am no expert on breast feeding only managed two days with my last dd, but have done alot of reading especially gina fords contented house with twins cos im determind to do better this time!!!!!!!! she says the more you express/feed the more you will produce also seems the best time to express is first thing in the morning before you feed little ones as that is when you are fullest, and how much to express is start off with 1 oz from each side and build up as time goes on depending on if babies last to next feed, thats a general gist of it, alot of prople dont agree with her strict routines but i find some of the practical advice, great i just take from it what i want. Like i said im no one to give advice on b feeding but hope it helps a little good luck with house move and you will be fine when your man goes back to work
