Clappa, I'd say persevere and maybe take them by themselves if you can get someone to look after your older one so you can have one each and just take it slow with them. I love it as it's the only time I get without them all over me (they are 14mths).

We've just come brack from our holidays and our twin boys (18mths) have just hjad their first taste of swimming, we bought the seats for them to sit in and they hated them! They were frightened of teh water and I had to get us all out (me,  hubby, 4yr old son & twins) get them drya nd take them back to caravan whilst hubby stayed with ds1. It was a nightmare.

I can't help think that if they'd have been intriduced sooner to the water they'd have been ok. It's just so hard isn't it to take them? like a military operation!

hi, we swim about 2/3 times a week, at 6 mths the twins went in the swim rings, definately the safest way for us to manage as also have a 2 yr old. As soon as they were 1 they went into arm bands and now at 14 mths happily bob about. We have joined the local gym as only allowed one child per adult under 5 in local pools. Also if you have a children's centre nearby then I know our's has a swim session once a week and were really happy to help out - and  cheap!

To be honest I would never feel safe taking them swimming alone.

I wouldn't go swimming with my twins on my own at the moment, they are 14 months. It's not in the pool that's the problem it's getting them changed before and after thats' the stressful part. I've only had them swimming about 4 times, purely due to the fact that I can't always get someone to come with me, but they absolutely love it.

    Hi,

When I take my twins swimming I use the blow up chair things! They are really useful buit a little bulky. My twins are 14 weeks old now and love time in the pool.

If I were you I would look at a mums and tots swimming session and speak to the instuctor prior to going. They are usually really good with the advise. Never heard about the sling, sorry. When mine were a little older just took them with arm bands on. Jo.

    Hi

Has anyone ever used a sling so that they can take both babies swimming at the same time?  Mine are 6 months old, been swimming once and loved it, so I really want to make it a regular thing, but having someone free to come with us at a time that suits can be tricky.  I need to check the pool restricutions, but wondered if I had one in a sling and one swimming then swapped if that would be suitable.  Friend saw lady with twins at a pool and she had one, just wondered if anyone knows where I could get / has any recommendations

    thanks

    lucy
