we only got it in feb so if anything its probally worth less than what we got it for and to be honest i dont really care about getting any money out of it, i would just like to be out of it and not have to worry about the hassles of having a house, if you know what i mean!

oh yeah to get ur name off is easy, u just basically sign it away....

why arnt you selling your half of the house back to him?
even if u dont contribute financially, half of that house is yours. if its a case of he cant buy u out, then the house would prob go up for sale and ud get half back, minus fees etc... and then ud have some money away for a rainy day...
remember ever time u cooked, cleaned, decorated, etc that is ur way of 'paying' ur half.

Hi, this is funny as this is something I would like to know too. Last week I phoned my mortgage company they said I need to send a letter confirming I am happy to come off the mortgage & my husband needs to complete a change of tennancy or something like that form, they have sent it out, I am really hopeful it will work out..Good luck..

I've got the same question if I get a new job. but in the meantime just wanted to confirm that council told me if your name is on a joint mortgage they won't house you as priority/homeless because they see it as you have somewhere to live, but you can apply as band 2 which relies on how many points you get

me and oh have just split up and basically he is gonna keep ou house on as i cant afford to live there on my own and he can. but as only got the house in feb and i recon that as my name is on the mortgage i wont be aable to get any housing help as they will see i technically have a house. so how hard is it to take my name off the mrtgage, would it have to be cancelled and he would have to get his own mortgage?? cos that would mean paying a early repayment fee!
Is so confussing, cos if we do have to do that we will lose money, any advise would be great

Hi, you also need to get a solicitor to do the legal work in changing the title deeds of the mortgage normally cost a couple of hundred pounds, you don't both need a solicitor if amicable of their is no equity in the property but a solicitor does need to be involved.
mortgage company will also need to check that the person staying on the mortgage can afford it in their own name so they need to complete a transfer of mortgage property form, a credit search is also done
