They said that they woud pay roughly about £700 for the rent or over depends, then £125 a week on top of that. Ive got a meeting as I cant pay for the deposit so hopefully I get that. Im going to get a 2 bedroom house not a flat.

It goes on LHA now so every area is different. type LHA into google and you can see how much you get for your area. its just me and my daughter so i get 120 per week for a 2 bedroom property in my area. you can keep up to 15 pounds per week excess say if my rent was 105 or 110 i could keep the excess but if my rent was 90 they would dock some of my benefit. If i was to rent a 3 bedroom i would still only be entitled to the same amount but if i found a 3 bedroom for 120 thats fine. hope that makes sense.

I don't know anything about moving into a private rent house and housing benefits because I stayed in the house I shared with my ex-partner and our room mate (who moved out just before we had our baby) and made him move out.  I've only moved into council housing since becoming single, and there's none of that worrying about deposits in that.  I do know that housing benefit is only paid up to a certain point if you are under-occupying the property you are in, I had to pay rent on top of housing benefit despite full benefits because there was only two of us in a three bedroom property.

hi i am moving out the 22nd into a 3bedroom house just me and my twin boys so obviously 1 bedroom is spare, the rent a month is £560 but as 1 bedroom is not used housing benefit can only pay the maximum amount for a 2bedroom house which is roughly £460 a month

where about u from natrose???............how many kids u have??? u on benifits?

coz from what ive been told is that a new law come in affect as from april......that u only get rent for how many bedrooms are taken up........so say if i was to get housin benifit for the house im living in at the mo....its a 3bedroomed.........but id only qualify for £115.odd a week rent........as my two children are still young enough to share a bedroom.so id only qualify for the rent of a two bedroomed house and not a three..and thts how most housing offices look at things.........my friend who does get housin benifit her house comes under the range of £90pw rent and she under the old laws gets £80pw......but now the rent goes in accordance to how many bedrooms are occupied........

goodluck in whatever u get but im thinking if u only have the 1 child there is nooooo way they will pay up to £900 a month rent.......

sorry if am wrong but oh well thats another day.

Just wanted to know ive got a meeting with a person from the housing department about possibly getting a bond, this is to pay for the deposit to rent a place of my own. I just wanted to know how this will work, Im not working at the moment as my contract ran out.

They also said i would get all my rent paid for plus £125 per week.

Has anyone done it this way
