I lived with my mum throughout pregnancy and until ds was 18 months.
I eventually moved into my own place 2mins down the road from her and was absolutely devastated for the first couple of weeks. I was in tears in the evenings and even planning on putting all my new furniture in storage to move back.
However....now 20months on I wonder how I even managed to live with her for so long! I love my own place, everything is just how I like it and I don't have to worry about noise etc.
I often have friends with their lo's come to stay for the night, which is nice for ds and when they're asleep we get a glass of wine and a natter. My mum babysits occasionally so I can go out or if a friend has a girly night ds comes too and sleeps in his inflatable bed.
So be warned the first few weeks may be tearful, but from my experience you won't look back and you'll feel much more independent.
Best of luck!

No we are council I could never afford to rent privately and the council wont even help me with the rent unless its more than £800 per month. Theres no way i could afford that on my own.

Hey. I've not been around much lately but hope you are all getting on well.
I live with my parents and my 1 year old (it's her birthday today!!) but have just been offered a 2 bed house in the next town.
Totally ideal. However, was just wondering how you all cope living on your own with a wee one. I'm soooo worried about the evenings, I think I might crack up. Sounds awful but will definately miss my "built in babysitters".

when i first moved into my council house when my daguther was 2 1/2 i was worried about how i would cope with a toddler on my own - and as you say without my built in baby sitters! however my mum said she wanted to have lo one night a week, which took the pressure off a bit. eventually after a few weeks of settling into my new house and gettin used to evenings in on my own i started to enjoy having my own space and wondered how i coped living with my mum for so long! honestly, youll love having your own space and being able to do what you like! good luck! xx
