thankyou, i was just tryin to work out if i should give my notice in as soon as my pay finishes or stay 'working' there on no pay mat leave untill i find something else and then hand my notice in and claim my working tax, I think im gonna be better doing that cos i live with my parents at the mo so dont need housing or council tax benefit yet

Youre entitled to claim income support as a single parent hun. You should get: child benefit (around £18 per week), Child Tax Credit (around £46 per week), Income Support (around £59 per week). Youre also entitled to full housing benefit and council tax benefit. HTH

Hi was wondering if anyone knoew anything about job seakers allowance?? I am very soon oing to be out of a job and am really worried about money I only have 2 more pays left, due to becoming a single mum and having to move out of the area I cant go back to my old job, I have been looking at the job centre website and cant work out if i would get the lone parent rate and the dependent child rate or just the loan parent rate.

I really do want to find a new job after xmas but dont know how long it will take it tokk me ages to get my last one and will be even harder now i want part time
