We have just come back from a week away at Devon Cliffs and it was great, my mother-in-law paid for it and we booked a prestige 3-bedroom caravan and when we got there they had upgraded us to a Platinum caravan, it was very posh, the kids bedrooms were really nice (I have 4 young kids under the age of , there was a bathroom with a toilet and even a seperate toilet as well, very impressed, the haven site was really good, lots to do there and around the area, we went to Plymouth Aquarium one day and it was really good and Wookey Hole is really good as well and not too far.

Most of the time we used Haven, and everytime its been brill.

I been to quite a few places were Haven have sites, and each place had great services if anything went wrong when we was there, and theres the odd 1 or to things for kids to do on site (if you didnt want to leave site for the day etc) its good, i realy enjoy it.

Also..just wanted to say Devon Cliffs is absolutly gorgeous (last time i was there, ther was a lad called Jason on thw waltzers.. YUMYUM) lol x

we r going to prestatyn haven in sept and it cost us £100 for a superior caravan and tbh i am not bothered as long as the caravan is clean, i am taking extra blankets as i know caravans can get cold . we r just planning to use it as a base and go off to see other parts of wales and visit the zoos etc x

my kids r 2.5 and 1 and they just love going anywhere away from home as its and adventure for them x

We have been to loads.... devon cliffs , thorpe park cleethorpes , rockley park bournemouth and loads of others but our best by far was last week at " The orchards " at clacton on sea. Best holiday ever.We honestly didnt wanna come home.We were booked for a 2 bedroom basic caravan but actually had a 3 bedroom luxury caravan which was soooo nice with laminate floor  and all mod cons lol. The entertainment was great and loads of things to do on park we literally had to much to do but not enough time to do it in.Went to colchester zoo thursday which was about 17 miles away which was a fab day out too.Lovely beaches too x

ive been to the following sites.....

combe haven in hastings and i have to say this isnt bad entertainment wise but the complex is situated on a huge hill and its hard going get up the hill let alone with a buggy or walking down it after a few too many beers

doniford bay sommerset... dont even bother! it was the worst place ive ever been in my whole entire life!! no exageration either!!!!!

golden sands maplethorpe lincolnshire was fab the only let down was that it was during all those floods last year and our caravan was stuck in middle of a lake (large puddle) and they couldnt move us but it wasnt there fault, the complex was great and lots to do.

we are going to caister norfolk in sept as we heard good reviews

All the ones in yorkshire are fab, primrose valley, golden sands, blue dolphin.

A lot of haven parks do restrict opening ti,es when its not peak season which is why its cheaper as staffing costs are cheaper.

Upgrade to the best caravan you can afford, we got 1 with just a fire in and it was freezing even witht the fire on full so upgraded on site and got  one with heaters in the room but the heaters were just hot air and the air vents were on the floor so i spent all week paninking that we'd blocked them with clothing and bags.

In august i dont think it would be a problem though as it far warmer then than in april.

I prefer a busy site it creates an atmosphere much better than a quiet one and the kids have so much more fun when they have more kids to take part in things with, although if you go to a quiter one there more likely to win prizes for dance competitions and games etc as there are less kids.

At primrose valley you have scarborough not more than 10 miles away an you can hop on a very regular bus, bridlington not to far in the other direction theres also a sunday market near by that you can walk to, there's flamingo land theme park and zoo not to far away - there is so much to do you could easy fill a week.

I used to live not to far away from them all so spent many a holiday there.

At the end of the day a holiday is all about the people you are with and what you make it.

We're just back from Rockley Park, Poole and it was RUBBISH!! We normally go to Center Parcs, but thought we'd try something different, and well...we've decided just to stick with Center Parcs. After all, it cost us the same amount of money.

The facilities were very poor at Rockley. We had funworks passes included in our package and we didnt even need them, no-one ever checks for them, so any tom,d1ck or harry could walk in and use the facilities for nothing.

The caravan was basic, but was a "gold" level caravan...not what we expected at all!

I wouldnt waste your money on them tbh.

I'm thinking about Thorpe Park in a prestige caravan for 4 or 7 nights. Dubious about doing 7 incase we get bored and nothing to do.

Which are the sites to avoid in Yorkshire, I don't want too packed but don't want to be invaded by wrinkleys! xx

This will be my 12th time this year and

I have been to PrestHaven twice.

    Marton Mere 4 times

    Blue Dolphin once.

    And Cala Gran three times.

    And Lake land once.

All I can say is you get what you pay for, if you pay more you get better quality caravan, the entertainments stikk the same.

The worst one was blue dolphin, the pool was good, play area good but shut at certain times, the entertainment was hit and miss and the weather was appauling! We had only 1 gas fire to heat the whole caravan, but that was because we paid cheap prices, pay a bt more and you get heaters in the bedrooms too!
