    My nephew is like that, his birthday is 4th September.  He ended up in nursery for two years before going into reception.  He is in the same year as my dd whos birthday is 24 July so nearly a year between them.  Its a shame but I guess they have to have a cut off at some point.

    You start school in the academic year in which you will be 5 so babies born 1st Sept 04-31st Aug 05 will all go to school in the academic year Sept 09

    Hi I don;t think you can I'm afraid. My daughter has just scraped in for this September , August 28th Birthday!! I however wish she didn't have to go in September as she is not really quite ready and will only just be four.

    Hello, hope i can have advice on the title.

    basicly, my daughter has been in nursery since sept last year.

    all her friends are going up to reception in september and because my daughters birthday is in september she has to go next yea in september 09!

    so when she goes into reception she will be 5????????

    can you appeal or go into the reception half way through the year?
