One option is to buy some disclosing tablets, they show the plaque up in a different colour. That way you can be really sure it is being brushed off in the first place. You can get them from ebay, just search disclosing tablets. Hth
My children use electric toothbrushes but because they are young and over enthusiastic I tend to get cheap ones and replace them. Tescos own childrens electric toothbrushes are under a fiver and come with batteries. It might be worth trying a cheapy one and if she gets on with it you can replace it with a more expensive one at a later date if you wish.
I first used an electric toothbrush (standard Colgate battery one, fairly inexpensive) a few years ago and it felt like my teeth were properly clean for the first time ever. I have the same as the kids and hate it if the batteries run out and I have to use a manual one.
i think getting advise from your dentist is the best thing to do. many dentists recommend electric brushes, others dont. the way the teeth are cleaned are most important,
it may be that your child is producing too much plaque, so the causes need to be checked. I dont really know what to suggest.
it might be better to make a dental appointment sooner rather than later so that you can get it sorted. if your dentist makes appointments months in advance, then turn up at the reception and ask for advise.
Despite my and my husbands best efforts, my dds teeth are not looking great. She doesnt eat that badly (for a 6 year old), she brushes her teeth twice a day and we check them/brush them too. We are going to the dentist later this month but know hes not going to be impressed. I think it might be a case of him chipping off the plaque which dd isnt going to like, she doesnt really like going as it is. I am thinking of getting her an electric toothbrush but have never used one myself so dont really know what to look for. Any suggestions?
