knowing what 9 yr old girls are like they have probably fallen out and will be friends again tomorrow and this is the reason why she doesn't want her there.

I would defo try to get to the root of it, while it is your dd's birthday, she does play with this girl at school so they must have some sort of friendship. I would try and get your dd to think how she would feel if the group was invited to this girls party and she was the one left out!

Hope you get it sorted and have a good time regardless of who ends up coming xx

I'd have a long chat with your daughter about why she doesn't want that friend there. Maybe you can help sort out the problem before you give out the invitations?

Maybe it is worth just having a chat with the mum first, and saying you restricted the party to a certain number and your dd picked that number of friends.

    OR

you could be sneaky and send her an invite anyway if you feel they are close friends and just having one of those typical short falling outs...

Nothing worse then handing out all the invites and then your dd desiding she would like her to come a few days before.

My DD turns 9 in 6 weeks time.  She has a good group of friends at school, but has decided not to invite one of them to her party this year.  Obviously it is up to her, but I feel rather uncomfy when in her mum's presence at the school gate, and handing out the invitations?

    Any advice welcome.

    Thanks
