    Hey!

    Thanks 4 replying!

When hes at home he either sits down or stands it just depends I think, but  he likes things to be clean and tidy so thats not a worry. Yeah they do have urinals but I think over the holidays they are getting new toilets installed but I think they would be keeping them.

A week tomorrow he starts school, but hes only going to be in school till 12 until after september weekend so hes probably not even going to use the toilets...He hardly ever went at nursery either. But Im going to tell him i think to go to toilet at break time.

It sounds daft worrying over it but its hard not to

Hi, have you checked at the school your lo is going to that they have urinals? just asking cos my little boy starts in septemeber - 4 weeks today actually! and when we went for his introduction afternoons they showed us the loos, and they only had 'proper' toilets not urinals for the little ones, don't think they even got urinals for the older ones.  In his class the toilets are out in the cloakroom and they have 2 toilet cubicles, one markes for boys and one for girls.  think its most important that they know not to pee all over the place and flush the chain, wipe themselves and wash their hands etc.

Obviously this is easier if there is a man to show him, but you can still do your part without. The school will want him to respect the toilets and not to block them with paper towels or try to pee all the way up the wall. You can teach him basic hygiene and how important it is to keep a toilet fit for the next person. If he is not used to standing at the bowl, some folk use a pingpong ball to encourage the aim downwards. Show him how to raise the seat and put it back down without dropping it and how to flush and wash hands. You will also need to equip him to resist if other children are trying to tempt him to misbehave. This wil be important in other situations beside the toilet.

Don't doubt your skills now. You have raised him so far and can continue without a man. Maybe a male relative or friend can reinforce your lessons, but if not he will survive! He wont be the only child in the class without a man at home.

    I have a questionleanne33

    Hey!

My son is startin school in a few weeks! My worry is him using school toilets (urinals) Im a single parent so hes never in the gents toilets so Im so worried about this. At the school meeting the head mentioned this about try to get them used to usin them.

Do you think he will just see other boys in his class and just get on with it and copy them. I feel so useless!

Anyone been through this or am I worrying over nothing?
