Hi, just to let you know that we have been back to docs this morning as rash is still there (although not as red) and after doctor called in a second doctor to doudle check her over they have come to the conclusion that she had an allergic reaction, which has triggered of her eczma and that is what it is !!!  They said spots should go down soon (thats what they said last time) They have now given her two creams, a bottle of antihistamine (sp) and a bottle of anti-biotics and a third meds which i still am not sure what it is but its spose to help with the suposed allergic reaction.

She has now seen three doc,s who all seam clueless

I woud take her back as I would have thought that it would be better by now.  Maybe it's not a reaction & it's a virus instead??!!

Let us know how you get on x

I'd have her back at the GP's an allergic rash treated with antihistamin should go down within 48hrs unless she is still in contact with whats causing it or she has an illness.

Hi , i did read the leaflet but it just said that it was used to treat allergies , hayfever, insect bites etc... the med the doc  gave me is called  chlorphenamine maleate (antihistamine 2mg)  so thought it would be similiar to piriton ?

Its just frustrating ,with the school term so close..

My Dd had hives a few years ago - we were advised by NHS direct to give her Piriton & it mostly cleared up that day.

Give NHS direct or your GP a call if you're worried . Is there a guideline leaflet which came with the medication?

How many days have you been giving her the medication? If it has been five days or the rash/itch is worsening or not improving at all I would go back to the GP.

Hi, my 9 year old ds has had an allergic reaction to something and now has a very servere rash all over her body,  from head to foot!! the doc gave her meds to stop itching and said it would clear in a few days, however this was 4 days ago and  it shows no sign of going . Does anybody know how long it takes to clear up,as shes back at school on the 4th.
