I started my period when I was 11yrs & I used Tampax mini. I never had any probs with it & much preferred them to using towels/pads.
Why don't you want her to use tampons?

I would much rather my daughter used a tampon than medication. You can buy special small slim tampons for those just starting out, and she would just be able to pop one in when she was on the beach etc. My concern would be that medication, once taken cannot be stopped. If she were to have any side affects you would not be able to do anything to help. Hope whatever you choose, that she has a great time xxx

i have a 12 year old daughter who is going on her 1st holiday abroad 24th september. she's looking forward to swimming and sunbathing in her bikini.thing is her period is due that week!
imo she's too young to be wearing tampons. she has a doctors appointment on friday to remove a wart. i'm going to ask is there anything she can take to delay it a week or so.
i would love your opinion or suggestion please.
she has been regular for the last 4mths since may this year.
*** align="left">she's going with her uncle and aunt which makes it worst!
please help. thankyou

I haven't really thought about it? I started my period when I was 13 and a few months later I changed to tampons. I remember the 1st few months being uncomfortable!!
I was thinking maybe next year when she's older she could use them then.
If the doctor gives her the pill I'll be happy for her to take it just for a month. I'm sure the side efforts are rare?
Thankyou for your replies
