The info I posted below came from an irish eduction site. Can anyone tell me the Irish structure for school (uk has reception 4-5, year 1 5-6) etc.
thanks

You were right in the first place. My DD1 is 7 and is just coming to the end of Year 2 and she recently took her Key Stage 1 SATs. When she starts Year 3 in September she will move to Key Stage 2 which ends at Year 6. Key Stage 3 is from Year 7 (first at secondary school) until end of Year 9. Key Stage 4 is from Year 10.

can someone please remind me of which years the children move into these levels
I thought Year 3 was KS2, and KS3 was the start of high school, but found some info on a site that suggests differently
Key Stage 1 - Primary 1-4 (school years 1-4)
Key Stage 3 - Form 1-3 (school years 8-10)
Key Stage 4 - Form 4-5 (school years 11-12)
Key Stage 2 - Primary 5-7 (school years 5-7)I would appreciate clarification from the teachers on here.
Thank you.

I think the years, as you described them, are correct for England and Wales. I'm not sure about iIeland, but I think it's different in Scotland too x
