We will be thinking of Corey tomorrow and keep fingers crossed that the op is a success. We are here to help you stay strong. As I have said before you have no choice but to take each day as it comes and hope for the best.

just recieved word that Corey is having an operation tomorrow to put in a shunt to drain the fluid, they believe that his vision is going to be most affected and he will be under the hospital all of his life. I know he is in the best place and that tomorrow will be the start of the treatment to help him but I'm still so worried, just want it to be over and for Corey to come home safe....X I have to be stong for the family. Now I've made the decision not TTC i notice I'm ovulating.....I'm going to be having very strong words with God in the next few days, Corey we're thinking of you little one.....X25/11/08 19:57

Thank you all so much it's really hard to talk to anyone at the moment as we are all caught up in worrying about Corey and trying to help his Mam and Dad deal with what they've been dealt. So it's good to know I can post on here. Even though i'm not actively TTC at the moment I hope I can still post on here I feel like I have friends here and I know you and you've given me so much support over the past months that I hope I can lean on you again?
This has to be the right time to stop TTC as my family need my support , I've been researching the condition Hydrocephalus finally worked out to spell it correctly as I want to know everything about what is going on so I can to help them and Corey have as good a life as possible Obviously I don't want to be asking them difficult or complex questions that they don't know or understand themsleves. So I'm doing my bit as I can right now....WARNING could be sensitive, sorry if I upset anyone here but I need to write this down so I understand this situation better.
So for those that are unsure this is a brief and as I understand explanation of the condition Hydrocephalus is where cerebalspinal fluid builds up in the ventricles in the brain and instead of draining back into the blood it builds up around the skull causing the top and back of the head to enlarge and puts extra pressure on the brain. You may have seen pictures of Hydrocelphic babies they look like they are aliens. It affect about one in 500 babies and is most commonly a problem from before birth. They can drain the fluid through a shunt . BUT they do not yet how much fluid there is or what damage it might have already caused to Corey he has scan this evening and I'm just waiting for news from my family, they said before scan he was okay,,,,so I'm guessing nothing has changed since yesterday,,,,no-one knew about Corey's condition until he was born so they do not know how long he has this build up of fluid. They have said that at his 20 week scan all was normal so is was something that has developed in later pregnancy.
The longer the fluid is putting pressure on his brain the more damage it could cause. hence the reason that my 2 day old nephew is having major tests right now. Thanks for reading and your support 25/11/08 18:18

Rose I am so sorry your nephew is ill and I really hope that they can help him, I know surgery may be an option keeping my figners crossed and praying for you and your family. I am really sorry you are having such a tough time at the moment. Thinking of you .. always here if you need someone to talk to.

i am doing the sperm meets egg plan this month and although it the first month again with the monitor i am hoping the monitor will pinpoint my ov and i hit it right .xx

My nephew has Hydrocephalis I'm in shock....no-one had any idea or at least didn't tell us! poor baby Corey is in special care at our local children hosptial!!! he has to have a brain scan to assess the seriousness of his condition!
I'm defo out of TTC for a while now need to support my family. Hope I can be strong enough for them!! 25/11/08 14:24
