If I was you I would be going to a different Doctor!

I was 8 weeks when we lost our baby, I done a pg test 3.5 weeks later to make sure my hormones were back to normal, it was negative.

If you can't get another Doc to see you, I would take a wee sample into the Docs and slam it on her desk and demand she test it. Lets hope it splashes onto his/her paperwork too, treating people like she treated you!

Let us know how you get on, you get a free phone call from the nick when they arrest you lol    Only joking! Demand a test, they can't refuse hun.

well ladies I have just got back from the docs and she didn't tell me anything I didn't know already.  It's 5 weeks tomorrow since I had the early mc and she said that I could still have the hormones in my body.  She also said that yes it could be a new pregnancy, then to finish she adds in you could still be pregnant but lost a twin!!! Even though I have told her I have been doing home tests and they have been getting stronger

So she just said wait two weeks come back if still testing positive and then will book me in for scan which will take another week.  So I have got potentially 3 week wait to get an answer, gggrrrrr!!!!!!

has anyone had the hormones stay in their body for 5 weeks after an early miscarriage??

cheers ladies for all your help and advice.  I have started to get it into my head now that I am pregnant and am def having symptoms (althought sometimes I think I just make them up in my head!!!)  will test again tomorrow am and see what happens then will go to docs sometime next week. 

i dont know if its any help but the hcg levels usually do drop off quickly after mc, i miscarried on 6th june and by 7th june was already testing neg on urine sample and levels had way dropped, hope this gives you some good feelings and im waiting for your good news of a def BFP although i think you already have it xxx karen

I agree with Elaine. Although I went to doc yesterday and did a fresh test yesterday am, just to be sure. When i got to doc, he didn't need to test again and didn't even query presence of hormones from before (d and c at end of may).  That would tell me me that the hormones mustn't stay around for long, or he would've mentioned it at least.  He congratulated me and sent me for a scan to see what was happening in the womb, and to make sure not ectopic as i was havin pains in my side.  Scan showed definite activity in my womb but no sack as yet as too early (4-5 weeks).  I really would say that as you've still got a line, it's looking good!!!  All the best hun, let us know how you get on!!!  and probably some for you too????

Helen I would go to the doctors in a couple of days if u do the other test and it still shows a line perhaps take that with you. i would be surprised if u still have the hormones from when you lost in june but iknow you dont want to get your hopes either the doctor can advise you and perhaps even do a blood test or something.

I haven't been out to buy a digital one (I'm too tight for the expense!!!) but I did test again yesterday on my ebay cheapys and the line is still there.  It's easily visible to the eye but not as strong as the test line.  Think I'm going to leave it another day or two and test again.  Is it worth going to the doctors yet do you think, what are they likely to do???

Can i suggest you get a cb digital? I got a neg on it and a few days later a bfp.  If you get a pos on it i'd say you were def pg!!!

the af can take around 4-6 weeks from mc.

I must admit i tested 2 weeks after mc to check my hormones had gone just to be on the safe side and they had and i was 10 weeks when i mc'd.

It does sound possible perhaps check again monday and see your gp?

well I've tested again this morning with fmu and once again faint bfp, although have to say I think it is stronger than yesterday.  Still so confused and don't want to get excited.  Out of interest does anyone know how they date edd if I haven't yet had an af.  Is it from the 1st day of mc?

Just to let you know it is possible!! I had d and c on 28 may, and was wondering why af hadn't come.  BFP soon settled that!!! Here's some and i would guess congrats are in order for you!!!

guess I'll just have to be patient and re-test.  My head is in a right muddle now though.  I wasn't really emotional about the early mc but now the thought of me actually being pg again so soon has got my head going!!

In my opinion the hormones from your last pregnancy should have well gone by now, especially as you were only 5+3

The only way you'll be able to tell for sure is wait 48hrs and test again and see if the line is any darker

i no that my doc wanted me to wait for my first period before ttc because of that situation

but if you felt ready then you should do what feels right

i would give it until your first due date and test again

you could well be preg

but im not sure but im sure the other girls will be able to help you out more

I had an early miscarriage on the 7th June at 5+3.  bled for 5 days and got straight back on to the bd. 

So for the last few days my boobs have been tingly, which is a sign for me and then today I came over all quezy.  So I thought I would do a test. It came back with a very faint test line.  So now I am a bit confused.  Is it low levels of hcg on a new pregnancy or low level from the last one ending???

Anyone had these issues before?  That will teach me not to do a test after mc to check for bfn
