Hey Jen!! and everyone else too!
Brilliant news about scan, was wondering how it went, been v busy with having friends to visit and also going to ikea today.... Anyway, back to the scan-lovely picture, bubs looks gorgeous!-did you see any dangly bits or are you totally clueless?! Good news about the induction etc really cos at least you know (all being well) that you will have baby by or on due date-no waiting about for you!
It's hard to narrow it down to fave J names because there lots of nice ones.
My fave girl name with J is probably Jessica (my sisters name) I like names that can be sortened and I like Jess/Jessie.
My fave J boy name is Jay but that would be no good for you I imagine as too similar to Jacob so I also really like Jude (controversial!) and Joshua. Jack is really nice but sooooo popular.
Is everyone else well?
Em xxxxx

hiya kelly, how are you doing?
we had scan today and - yay!!!! its a baby!!!!!
all's well, and consultant saw me and they are doing diabetes test to see if that s why jacob was big, and they are going to scan me at 38 weeks to see how bubba is sizing up. they agreed to not let me go over my due date, an if all is favourable, ie cervix getting ready, babes not over 10lb then they will induce me, otherwise,, straight to c-section again.
ill try upload my scan pic

hope everyone else is well x

Hi Everyone!
Jen, I think there are far worse letters you could be limited too-loads of my fave names begin with J so I reckon you'll be alright there! I teach primary age so 5-11 but at the mo I'm a year 2 teacher so 6-7 year olds.
It's a dilemma what to for Jacob... As a teacher I'm bound to say best to go to nursery, he will be involved in the settling in, getting used to new routines making new friends etc. BUT from a mum's point of view I have heard that a new baby can really throw the first born and they can revert a little bit (kind of take a few steps back developmentally) and maybe sending him off to nursery at this crucial time might make this even worse (He might feel like you are 'getting rid of him') He may feel very jealous that bubs is with you and he is not? However it would probaby also be helpful to you if Jacob does go to nursery as it will give you a bit of time with the baby and will keep Jacob entertained and cared for whilst you get used to new baby. Also even if you keep him off he will still have to go at some point an dit might not be any easier then.
Wow, it;s certaninly a tricky one-to be honest I don't think a few weeks off nursery will make that much difference to Jacob and he will settle in a little bit later just fine and will probably be totally immersed in nursery life straight away as if he was there from the start. Maybe see how he reacts to baby for the first few days and go from there? Sorry not been much help have I!
Lane, get a picture of you new hair up-I bet it's really nice, would love to have a nose!
Take care,
Em xxxx

em -thats great news!!!! i responded to your names thread too, lol! love your names!!!
we are limiting ourselves to 'j' names, well we kind of have a theme at the moment!!!
lane - meant to say earlier on - get it all chopped off!!!! thats great, i am so going to booking a haircut in the next few weeks, cant wait to get it all lopped off, as i too am tieing it back all time at mo, not a flattering look for me!!!
em, couldnt believe the ectopic thing too, the gp was a very mumbling muttery one with few social skills, so it took me a while to clock on
by thw way, what age do you teach?? i am wanting advice on jacob as he will be due to start his first week at nursery straight after i am due - part of me wants to keep him at home so he can adjust to new baby and then star nursery, but then i worry missing even a couple of weeks, when the children are all new, will mean he will miss out on the formation of friends and something like that can impact for a while!!! i am still good friends with the girl i first walked through the door with at nursery purely becasue we walked thru the door together and struck up a connection then.

Thats great news about the scan Em. I have my placenta at the front too, its only in the past 2 & 1/2 weeks that i have felt movememnts from the outside and i will be 24 weeks on friday. Did you find out the sex or are you keeping it as a suprise. Knowing me its on the names thread that i haven't looked at yet lol.
I had about 1/2 of my hair cut off today but i have to say i really like it and it should be easier for me to do, might also wear it down a bit more often.
7/4/08 16:39
PPS!!!! Check out my 'names, names, names' thread in DIA!! xxx
7/4/08 16:18
PS. forgot to say-bubs is measuring below average for 3 of the measurements they do but has got a huge tummy which is nearly off the scale!! How strange! xxxxx
7/4/08 16:16
Hey peeps,
Scan went well today-yay! Bubs was moving around loads even though I'm not feeling it tho apparently my placenta is anterial so baby is probably kicking against that most of the time. At one point baby was putting it's thumb in it's mouth which was so cute!!
The picture was not as good as my last scan at 15 weeks but I will scan it in and put it on my profile in the next few days.
I went to Tescos afterswards and bought a tommee tippee breastpump, steriliser and breastpads all for half price so saved over £40-first things I've bought and still a bit nervous about doing it but offer is only on until tomorrow so wanted to take advantage of it.
Everyone keeps saying to me about holding on til Sept too! I'm a teacher and I'm not bothered! In fact if it came a week early like Finn did i will be well chuffed! Finns bday is 17 july and he seems to be doing well when compared with his peers at nursery so hopefully this one will be fine too.
Jen what is it with you and anything 'ectopic' what a strange conicedence that, that is what they call the heart thing you are suffering with. At least they are keeping an eye on you and hopefully it will be one of those things and will go as quickly as it came, big hugs tho cos it must be v worrying for you. Have I asked before....are you going to find out sex of baby at your scan?
Love to you all,
Em xxxxxxxxxx
7/4/08 13:19
hi kelly and lane xx
just got back from docs and he hooked me up to ecg and told me i had ectopic heartbeat, irregular beats, it shouldnt affect baby but he has taken some tests to look at thyroid levels as this can be a cause.
trying not to be worried. good thing is, cos i rang my mw for advice on where to go first, she has me booked in for next tuesday, 20w instead of at 22w like theyd asked before.
hope your scan went well em? are you going to post piccie up??
7/4/08 12:08

Good to those having scans today.
Jen i had my son on the 23rd of August and he is doing just fine in school, infeact he is ahead of most of the kids that have almost a year on him and some of the kids in the year above as it is a mixed class.
The only down side is they miss out on birthday parties because people tend to be away on holidays or forget they have been invited as it is at the end of summer.
I am having my hair cut today. I can't decide if i want to take more of the length of as i always seem to have it up these days, but that is also becuase i need the fringe cutting. It's been months since i had it cut. Before i was PG.

hi em mine is 1.50pm but got consultants appt after, think its routine, and expect to get a registrar as usual.
really panicky about mine, esp as i havent felt too well today and yest, been feeling my heart as tho its racing and skipping beats, like i am anxious but i dont think i have been in particularly. dont feel poorly enuf to have done something about it just prob anxiety about thurs as had no scans since7 weeks and convinced something will be wrong.
if all ok going to ask a lot about whether to go for vbac or another c-section, this time elective.
jacob was big, 10lb 3oz and i dont want to go over my due date if it looks like i grow em big, and i just want more info on why my induction, which involved the works, failed to do anything even tho i was 13 days over and my placenta was breaking down.
does that mean they wont work for me? hmmm.... no doubt ill get fobbed off by 'every labours different' but we'll see, looking forward to at least starting a discussion about the baby and labour, as it means if i am having that discussion all will be well and fingers crosse3d on track for august.
loads of people tutting and saying, ooooh late aug baby, they'll have problems being the youngest in class, try to hold on til sept!!!!!!! like i will care by then, lol!!!
5/4/08 10:55
Jen, My 20 week scan is on Monday at around 9:30 (got to check the letter!), slightly anxious but also really looking forward to it, bit strange really. I will be just under 20 weeks. Good luck for yours too-what time on Thursday is it? xxx
4/4/08 22:22
good luck for scan em, what day is it? mine is thurs xx

hi kelly, the dreams must be awful, it must be an unsettling time for you at the moment, how are you getting on? just take each day as it comes xxxx
em - you got our fave girls name
hope you are doing well
lane where are you? how you doing?
hope everyone else is fine too?
my ectopic heartbeat is getting me down, with just general feeling of unwell, but at least i know not to stress about it, and i have one more week at work then i am on annual leave for another week - we will be living at my mum and dads house for a week whilst they are away so i can look after and be close at hand for my grandparents, so i know i will have some kind of rest up then, a change at least!!!!
other than that, all is well, i am trying to take it easy and dh is being a star helping out a little more with jacob.
well must go, consultant advised me to walk around on all fours to strengthen my 'core' muscles or something as it helps spd ????? well, worth a try, and going to do it now before dh and ds get back from their outing - else dh will take the p*** out of me, and ds willt hink i am offering a pony ride!!!!!!!!!!!!
