Thanks for the info on that Jen alot of what you describing tallies with what i have been feeling. Although it isn't unbearable right now just a bit of a pain. Hubby laughs at me when i am struggling to put my knickers on lol
Right off to work then i have another scan at 12.25

2/4/08 20:38
could be, lane. you generally get it with second and following pregnancies rather than first, tho i got it in my first, and a friend of mine has it for her first too.
because all your ligaments loosen in pregnancy sometimes they overdo the job, and it causes pain in your hips or pubic bone and sometimes lower back too. you can get clicking feeling/ noise, a grinding type pain in your pubic bone, and burning type pain in your hips etc.
problems with mobility include lifting one foot off the floor (eg putting underwear on), getting out of and into cars and bed, rolling over in bed, going up stairs and separating your legs outwards (eg if you were going to do breaststroke kick with your legs - some women can only separate their legs a certaing distance which can affect labour - i was lucky in that i got pain when lifting the legs up rather than sideways.
if you have spd it generally progresses to a stage where each of the above goes from uncomfortable to painful/ impossible, though you generally pay if you overdo things one day, and resting does help a little.
if your pain doesnt go away, its well worth speaking to your mw or gp for a physio referral - some women are helped with belts to wear and you get general advice about movement to minimise any pain - oh and dh has reminded about his info - fizzy drinks can apparently cause joints to hurt (?) so i try to minimise these (i say that cos i have a bit of a craving for ice cold lemonade/ sprite/ 7UP!!!!)
www.pelvicpartnership.org.uk has tons of info

i had a really bad episode a week or so ago and it has calmed down again since to just vaguely annoying levels, so its not all bad news!
hope everyone else is fine??

wow thats some clean up session you have had today. You can come over my house tomorrow if you want.
What does spd feel like and can you get it any time in your life wile pregnant. I say this becuase i have an aching lower back and my under carridge well the bones under there feel like i have been kicked, they sort of ache and i am finding it i little bit of a struggle to lift my legs and stuff.
It might just be that the baby is feet down a pressing on me there all the time i don't know.

phewee, finished jacob's room and upstairs cupboard (its big and was full of junk, now its full of boxed and labelled junk, lol!!!). now for a cuppa and that chocolate i never had before and then a rapid tidy up all the mess so it looks relatively normal for dh and ds getting home - by friday place should be sorted

guess i am doing all this now as my spd is gradually coming back and i know when i want to get jacobs room sorted for early june and when i want to nest i will not be physically able - get it out of my system now, lol
2/4/08 09:55
well i have just finished the bathroom: scrubbed all tiles, new shower curtains, all spotless, even right behind sink and toilet, had lucky escape with my foot as i stepped off the bath from cleaning on top of shpwer rails and straight onto a glass candle holder, luckily its a big heavy thing and i just hurt my foot and glass didnt break, but i have now come downstairs for rest!!!
been sorting downstairs cupboard out too, got some drawers and have been putting our jumble of chargers, batteries, tools and lightbulbs into separate drawers - aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh my inner perfectionist is starting to feel calm, shame my outer slob wants a cuppa and chocolate!!!

next step, jacobs room, finally going to put pictures up and swap the curtain pole for tracking (pole lets too much light in and keeps falling down on our heads!!!!).
and then, oh dear, the spare room
and finally our bedroom - got all my clothes to swap to maternity clothes and generally pick up off the floor.and sorry for boring everyone!!!!! when i got a mammoth task like this on i need toget myself through it anyway i can!!!! and as ever that usually includes a running commentary

would love a girl

only of course, so that i can shop for children's clothing and have the pleasure of four aisles full of clothes compared to the boy's paltry ONE aisle of clothes!!!!!!
this is why i want to find out sex, its not at all that i dont want a boy, just would love a daughter

and lets face it any happy healthy child will do me, but you know we all have certain hopes, though the way jacob is giving it with the fondness for pink, disco dancing and ballet, who knows? i may have next best thing

1/4/08 21:40
You would think I would stop worrying now but don't think I will!
Glad it's a girl as we only decided on girls names so far.
1/4/08 20:02
Aww, Lane and Cheeky-so glad that your scans went well-how exciting a girl and a boy! I can't wait for mine next Monday but feeling bit nervous too-my friend at work has got hers the next day so we were having a chat about it today. She has had 2 missed miscarrages under 12 weeks and is now a week ahead of me but is still bricking it just like we all do!
Take care everyone

thats great news for you lane and cheeky!!!
just got jacob off to bed and it feels like we've sent him too early as its still daylight!!! he's a tad confused and is wide awake at the moment!!!! still, making the most of an extra hours lie in as i am on hols at mo and so he is my alarm clock.
hes currently singing his spider song:
look on the wall there's a great big spider,
glory to his 8 long legs,
wibbledy, wobbledy, hit him on the nobbledy,
then there'll be no more cobwebs
daft bugger!
looking forward to a mad day sorting the house out tomorrow - i have decided to still send jacob to childminders and i have a huge long list of sorting out stuff and silly DIY stuff we have never got round to doing since moving in 8 months ago!!! can't wait!!!! normally i hate tidying but i tend to be an all or nothing extremes type when it comes to household stuff, tend to be pretty laidback about it all then have a mad blitz over a couple of days and clear the lot.
well best go, or dh sulks

1/4/08 17:23
Glad everything went well for you cheeky and congratulations on the little girl.
I had my 2nd anomily scan today also. I am please to say he is still a boy lol and everything looks good. It's such a relief, they were great and took quite a few pictures too. I asked for hands, arms, legs or feet ones and she got some great shots. One of them has him with one leg bent up and the other stretched right out.
I went and bought a few more bits and bobs too

1/4/08 12:44
Hi all. Scan went fine and baby was a wriggler and would not come out from behind my belly button!
All was fine and I am having a girl.
Seen consultant afterwards who checked uring and have sugar in it so have to have a few further tests but things are fine xxx
1/4/08 09:52
Good luck with your scan today cheeky. Although by the time this is posted it will be almost time for it.
I think i am getting more nervous about having to drive myself there as i don't usually drive long distances and its about 40 minutes to the hospital.
31/3/08 21:16
I can't seem to settle tonight. Far to nervous and keep convincing myself something is wrong. At least my appointment is at 10am so don't have to wait all day.
Half an hour later I have an appointment with a consultant to do with gestational diabeties or something like that.
Will let you all know tomorrow how I get on.
31/3/08 20:54
Evening all.
Glad everyone is well. I hope all goes well with any scans that are upcoming. I guess we will never stop worrying until we are holding them in our arms...but then a whole new set of worries take their place.
I have my 2nd anomily scan tomorrow. I just hope i don't have the same woman as i know i have put on weight lol. I know he is alive as he is a wriggler but i have fears there is something wrong with him.
Roll on 36 weeks.
31/3/08 20:28
all the best with that cheeky!!!!
mine is on tenth april and i am caking myself it will have no brain or something awful, esp with me having no mw appt since 11 weeks - how do they kno ive been fine?
at least we will know soon enough and chances are great it will all be fine, then our next milestone is the 'viability' stage, then it will be onto a near countdown!!! the longest bit!!!!
31/3/08 18:21
Got my 20 weeks scan tomorrow and am nervous and excited at the same time!
29/3/08 12:14
Hi all. Haven't posted for a few days but things seem to be going fine. Still got an addiction to my doppler but it seems to help.
Have got my 20 wk scan on 1st and am now worried about that in case there is any problems.
Have bought a few neutral buts of clothing as dh has insisted we need to start buying. Still very apprehensive about it though.
Hows everyone else doing?
28/3/08 15:11
Hi everyone!
That's great news about the job Jen!
I'm fine, had a friends little boy over earlier and he had red cheeks so now paranoid that he might have slapped cheek and I know for a fact that I'm not immune to it as was tested last pregnancy as it was going around school. He probably doesn't have slapped cheek but can't help but wonder. Will I ever relax?! Nearly sent them home but had to stop myself being completely neurotic-wish I had now!
Still not feeling much (if any) movement, can't wait til 20 weeks scan-less than 2 weeks to go now-yippee! Have considered getting one of those angel sounds monitors from Mothercare but they are probably total crap! Feel like it's ages between antenatal appts and I get really worried that things aren't right-anyone else like this?
Hugs and baby glue to all,
Em xxxxxx

Hey Guys!
Just checking in to see how everyone is doing. Sorry to hear bout the dreaded SPD must be horrible. I've been into the ole housework too recently (makes a change!) Think it must be cos my energy levels have increased. Was lying in bed a few days ago when bubs started moving a bit. DH and I were watching my tummy and I swear we saw some movement too! Was brilliant... I'm not getting a lot of movement but do notice it most before I go to sleep. Only a couple of days until my 20 week scan now.
Got a stinking cold so gonna have an early night.
Take care,
Baby glue all round
