Hey didnt want to read and run....

I too have been through several miscarriages.  First was a placental abruption at 24 weeks and sadly my angel dd was too good for this world.  Five months later I fell pg again but had bleeding at 6 weeks and the everything came away naturally.  Then in November last year I fell pg for the third time but got cramping at 7 weeks and some bleeding.  Had a scan at EPU and it showed bubs had stopped growing at 5 weeks.

I then fell pg AGAIN for the forth time in February this year and yet again at 5 weeks I had cramping and was passing red blood.  I feared the worst again but this little one wasnt going anywhere and a scan at EPU showed a heartbeat and everything was well.  Im now 35+2 and expecting a little boy next month!!

Just wanted to say bleeding doesnt always mean the worst.  I have always been told brown blood was old and red was new but my experience just goes to show that no matter what colour blood you have, it doesnt always mean the worst.  With our EPU we can turn up anytime between 8 and 12 Mon - Fri but we have to sit and wait for a scan.  Maybe yours is the same??  We do need to be referred tho so perhaps you could ask your GP to refer you?

Good Luck hun, take care and please please please have plenty of rest if you can.  Hope everything goes well at the scan on Monday xxx

Thank you for your replies it's comforting to read other people similar stories, this is the first time i've posted anything and I really appreciate people taking time to tell their story. I normally only read other peoples postings which helped me through losing my baby earlier on in the year. I know it could be good or bad news for me this time, but i'm clinging on to the thought that our Baby will be healthy. I haven't had any pain other than the odd little cramp so that must be a good thing. We decided not to tell our family yet as everyone will just worry and no point in putting everyone through this so it's good to know I've got here.

its soo frustrating u have to wait so long.I dont want to give u false hope but if i share my experience with u it might help u thru the nx few days.

I also had a mmc in jan....i do however have a healthy daughter, shes 5.I lost no2 when i was 11 wks preg but baby stopped growing at 6 wks....

Anyway, im now 19+5,and have a scan on thurs to make sure everything ok.It has been a long nrly 20 wks tho,and very testing....

At 7 wks i had some brown blood then went to loo and a gush of red blood, this was early hours so went to a&e,waited hours crying, for the doc to feel my stomach and tell me hes booked me in for a scan,i would be contacted in the nx cpl days and be fitted in.The following day i was called, and had a scan - everything ok....and then at 9+5 wks brown bleed, scan showed a sac beside placenta, possibly placenta coming away, but unsure exactly, but said they would have thought if it was a twin coming away, the twin prob would have been seen at the prev scan.I got a pic of bean to take away with me.Then had 12 wk scan and this showed no sign of placenta coming away and bleeding had stopped.During this time me and partner had no sex,and was told t the scan it should be safe to start agin, that night straight after a massive load of brown blood.Didnt even go back to hospital cos they dont do much anyway.A wk after went to Gp and said what had happened,he said hed try to listen for heartbeat but unlikely we would pick it up but we did.At 14 wks another brown bleed, went to gp and still a hb.....now im going for my 20 wk scan in just a cpl days and i can feel bubs wriggling around nicely.

I dont want to get ur hopes up,but i also know that i just wanted some hope to hang on to to get me thru til i knew for sure.U dont say if uve had any pain, but a little red blood with no pain isnt so awful and ud be suprised at how many women get a bleed around this stage, and brown blood usually means old,but thats not every case.I htink if u were miscarrying ud know about it in terms of pain and clots.I wish u a lot of luck, emma

Hi I am so sorry for your loss and for what you are going through right now. I think it is quite bad that your epu are making you wait a week for scan to find out what is going on. I have had 2 mmc and both started with a brownish discharge which turned to small amounts of red blood. I had to have and ERPC with the first but the 2nd passed naturally. However I am now 34+3 and I also had the same at 7 wks in this pregnancy. I was scanned at epu thinking the worst and baby was fine.

What I am trying to say is that it doesn't neccessarliy mean the same thing is happening again. This time  I started to bleed it was on a Friday and they couldn't scan me until the Monday. I did rest completely over the weekend. However you have a full week to wait and that might not be possible for you. I would go to A&E if I were you and say you have pain too. Then they might scan you quicker. The waiting is the worst part and I think it is really bad of them to leave you so long.

I really hope everything is ok and that you have a sticky bean this time x

I sadly lost my first baby in June this year, I had to have a MMC at 9 weeks as baby had stopped growing. It was very traumatic and upsetting, me and my husband had been trying for 1 and half years and want to be parents more than anything. I just found out yesterday I'm pregnant again, but unfortunately I have been getting a brown discharge for the last 8 days, I've had a small amount of red blood 5 days ago. This is very similar to what happened last time. I've spoke to the Early pregnancy unit and they have booked me in for a scan next monday as I should be about 6 weeks then, but she indicated it may be a miscarriage. At the moment I'm in a completely confused state, I want to stay positive but don't want to build my hopes up. I don't know what to do for the best in the mean time, completely rest or go back to work, I want to do what best but the women I spoke to this morning said it will make no difference what I do. Please can someone who may have been in a similar situation give me some advice. Thanks
