A friend of mine lost a baby last year, and then a few months later found herself in a situation very similar to yours. She bled on and off for a long time and was sure she'd lost the second baby. A scan showed the baby doing well (she thinks it may have been twins and that she lost one). They monitored her pretty closely throughout her pregnancy and the baby has done really well. She is now 12 days overdue and unless she goes into labour by this evening she'll be induced!

Hang in there. Try to stay positive, it will help you relax.

Unfortunately last Sunday I started spotting dark brown and bits of red blood.  Got a bit worse on Mon at which point I excepted it was all over as this is how my blighted ovum started.  Was distraught.  Got an appointment at EPAU on Tuesday morning and to our suprise they could see baby and heartbeat.  They said I had a blood clot or haematoma next to the baby that was bleeding and that I should be ok.  I am still spotting about as much as beginning ot end of period but enough to use a sanitry towel - got another scan on 10th feb.  Still very worried - had hoped this time would be ok.  Still got sore boobs and sickness.  Fingers crossed. Very worried

It is usual to have some pain in early pregancy due to your body changing but I do understand how scary it is.  With my last miscarriage I was still being sick and having pregnancy symptoms after my little one died and even after the scan confirmed the wee one was dead so there is little comfort there.

    Good luck with your scan.

Hello everyone I am currently 6 weeks pregnant and terrified of having a miscarriage - like most of you probably.

I had 2 miscarriages last year one was a blighted ovum.  With my second miscarriage at 6weeks I had felt fine didn't have any discharge no cramping.  I went to work and started getting period pains then an hour later started bleeding heavily.  I dont know what the medical term is for this type of miscarriage.  My question is for this type of miscarriage would all the symptoms of pregnancy disappear beforehand?  I have really sore boobs and did yet another preg test yesterday wich is a very positive line - appears within couple of seconds, but I have been getting cramping ever since I found out  I was pregnant it comes and goes mainly in the evenings - no spotting though.  I have got a scan at 7 weeks so just praying until then.

I wish I could remember if my symptoms disappeared last time but I felt quite confident everything was ok.  I honestly didn't think it would happen to me twice in a row - reading the posts now some women have had 4 or 5 in a row which must be soul destroying.

Many thanks for reading.  And good luck with your pregnancies.
