    Did they have a joint claim, and then he left?  If so, the tax credit lot will consider that it was his duty to inform them that he had left.  They can claim back from either party.  My ex had exactly the same thing and had to pay back 2 grand.  Their system is awful and so inflexible.

    my partner is goin through the same thing, he had a letter the other day saying he has to pay £950 or they will take him to court, his ex was claiming after he had left her, i dont have any advice, jus wanted to say someone else is going through it

    should my dp have to pay bak hundreds of pund to tax creds cuz she claimed 4 him wen he wasnt with her he saw none of da money
