we always jump at the chace of having ss to stay. His mum went off to new zealand for 2 weeks (although 8 at the time) However it was a great opp for the brothers to spend time together. I know many people go without their kids. We took ss on our honeymoon with us as we went to Disney! LOL

With us it's always what suits ss Mum not what is best for ss or others! Which sounds like your situation a bit. I hope you sort out the holiday time.

my OH's ex walked out on the kids and went to america to meet her "boyfriend" and my OH had to come of work for a week and look after them, coz of the job he does if they find out they were lied to he will get seriously done.

my dhs ex is going on holiday for a week shortly and has asked if we can have their little girl. we jumped at the chance to spend more time with her, the only problem is she hasnt given us a date yet and am pretty sure it will clash greatly with our daughter been born(due sep 13th). we just said if it did we will get on with ita dn have plenty of people around to help if needed. i do think she should of asked first before announcing it you both. but i know lots of people who go away without their children, i personally wouldnt do it but i guess its up to the individual.

It prob seemed an odd question.

My OH has a son with his ex and she phoned yest to say that she was going on hol for 2 weeks and their 3 year old son would be staying with us!

I personally would have thought that it would have been polite to ask us beforehand rather than just telling us that we were having him for 2 weeks as my OH will have to book time off work (he doesn't 2 weeks left to take) so god knows what will happen there.

As I said we have a 4 month old son and I wouldn't dream of leaving him behind, was just wondering if I was being out of order in thinking it was a bit odd for wanting to leave her son behind.
