Thank god i am not alone!!! my bf is now seeking custody of his 2, girl is 14 and boy is 17, we have them regularly, and when we do, they are dirty, clothes are rags, trainers holes in them, their mother took them 300 miles away from their father, family and friends, my bf and i don't live together, he lives about 120 miles away from me. We have been together 2 years, the first time my dd's and i met them, they were riddled with nits, so bad we went and bought a £10 nit comb cos the plastic ones weren't working. It breaks my heart to see them like that. We have gone out and bought countless amounts of clothes for them, get their hairs cut when we have them, make them bath once aday. Everytime they come down we have to wash all of their clothes because they a filthy and they stink. I freshly cook all our meals, and the first time i cooked for them, lasagna it was, they asked what it was. Followed by oh mum never cooks, we eat take out or get something ourselves. I sit here in tears now, I hate their mother for the way she treats them.

    Sorry just needed to vent.

I know what you mean my sd comes in clothes size 6-7 and she is nearly 12! Her hair is down to her bum and is washed only once a week it looks awful. We keep asking of we can take her to get it cut but she says my mum is getting it done!! We send clothes and trainers back with her regularly but we never see her in them again and when we ask her if she wears them she says she does sometimes? It so hard seeing look so scruffy and unkempt, its asthough her mum doesnt care or cannot see that she looks so bad. Do understand how you feel and all we can do is our best to encourage the kids to take pride in their own appearance as they get older x

I can kinda uderstand your frustratin, my ss mum doesnt take much if and pride in his appearance. Tho her younger daughters are opposite.

He came over sat (pouring rain outside) with no coat, took his jumper off after a while and had no tshirt on and huge holes inhis trainers! We buy all his clothes, he has plenty there, and he has had 2pairs of trainers since we got the holey pair but she keeps puttin him in them so we told him to put them in the nim when he gets home.

Same with his hair, i cut ds1 and ds2s hair, she wante dhis done at the shop which she agreed to do but he comes over with such a mop of hair which he dnt like so i have to keep on at her to do it. Silly really
