I would have liked to but DS weaned when I was 6 months pregnant - he was 13 months then. He's poorly at the moment (19 months now) and did want to try today but didn't really know what to do - bless him.

We had this discussion at my boobie group as we're planning on trying for another soon and my lo is 11mths, the hv who runs it sais that usually the older one will naturally wean themselves off the breast when you're about 4/5mths pregnant and she said it is possible to tandem feed this way but it's best to keep one breast for newborn and one for toddler as they use different kinds and amounts of milk but your body will naturally favour the new born and will produce the right kind of milk for the newborn.

I'm currently breastfeeding my 1 year old and have just found out I am 6 weeks pregnant. I'm hoping to continue feeding my son as well as the new baby when it arrives. Has anyone any experience of tandem feeding?
