This is probably the opposite of what BF mothers worry about but my DD Tyler is gaining weight very fast and in huge amounts... i BF on demand and that can be a lot lol.. Tyler was 8lb at birth and within 3 days she went down to 7lb 6oz. A week later when she was weighed by midwife she had put a lb on and was back to 8lb 6oz.
She is weighed every week at home by my HV (i am on CONI project which is why my HV does weekly weighing) 3 days later when my HV came to start weekly weighing Tyler was 8lb 10oz, the next week she was 10lb 1oz........this week when she was weighed she was a whopping 13lb!!!!!..............Is this much weight gain normal/healthy for a BF baby? Tyler has gained 5lb in 4 weeks????

Fraser is 4 1/2 weeks and bf apart from an occassional ff from his dad. He was 8lb 5oz at birth, 8lb 10oz at 2 weeks 2 days, 9lb 10oz at 3 weeks 1 day and 10lb at 4 weeks 2 days. Just to give you a comparison.
If your LO is following the same centile line for weight and length they are doing fine, but no-one ever does babies lengths anymore! (one of my colleagues did Fraser's for me when he was a week old, but you could do it yourself, as a rough guide)
Ideally you want them to grow along the same line on the chart all the time, apart from occassional growth spurts, or little drops if the are poorly/teething/etc and off their food.
Really don't worry, as babies all grow at different rates and you are unlikely to overfeed a bf baby. Also better to be a little bit chubby in the early days, than too thin!
