it could be that he isnt latched on properly then pulling away in frustration as the milk is not coming out well enough.

i had problems with latching on at the beginning, my nipples actually bled, was agony.  i went a local suport group for breastfeeding and got some helpful info and guidance that really helped me.  had no problems since. my son is now 11 weeks old

my son is ebf (4 weeks old) he feeds every 2 hours so is on me quite alot lol and the past few days he has really made my nipples sore i think it might be a latching issue but could also be something else. what he's doing is latching on fine (or so i think) feeding then he is getting frustrated and pulling his head away with my nipple still at the back of his mouth then he starts smacking his lips together (ouch). the sore nipples are not so much the problem got cream etc to help them but why do you think he's doing that? i thought it could be wind but he does it at the start of the feed aswell.
