Hi there are different views on when to express but most people believe it is best to wait until lo is 6 weeks as bf is established by then. People do express earlier than this but it can cause problems with feeding due to nipple confusion, baby not wanting to bf etc.
Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy and best wishes for the birth and successfl bf

Im due to have little one in 3 weeks and am thinking of breast feeding but would like to express so DP and step children can get involved... People have different views on this and I was wondering when the earliest is to express???
Also bottle feeding... Unfortunetly I have to go back to work so ideally would like to be bottle feeding (formula) by then. What is the best way to introduce formula?
Thank you

Hey, as Helen said the advice is to wait till LO is 6 weeks before expressing to make sure bf is established. If you want to collect milk before then you can use breast shells (£4 a pair in Boots) to collect leaks from one boob while you are feeding on the other. I got about 3-4oz a day just from doing this in the early weeks.
As for introducing formula, I'd recommend doing this one feed at a time a couple of weeks before you need to go back to work so that your boobs and lo have some time to adjust
