i know how your feeling. i was all ready to give up on wed. i was topping ds up with formula before i went on hols took the forlmual but decided i would try do it on my own i did and it was going great until last 3 4 days he was constantly crying and not sleeping through the day he was usually like this from 5pm isish for an hour or 2with colic ut i thought theres no way it could be coliv=c all that time especially as he is now 12wks so gave him bottle and he settled and brought loads of wind up!!! im now gonna try get my suppky going again as its only been a few days and see how we go from there. this will b e my last attempt tho. youve done brilliantly so far well done

The only time my breats ever leaked was when the milk camein after the closostrum and Im still bf now at 5 months!

darling, how long have u been bf for? the sensation you describe is normal even when lo is not crying - I remember when I first started bf (lo is 6 months today and we're still going strong!) I would always get that tinglin sensation when I was queiuing up at the supermarket, how weird ! it does stop eventually, or kind of. Anyway, it is totally normal, it usually means u should feed lo at that point because ur boobies r feeling up with milk - from what u r saying, I don't think u have any supply problem ! hope it helps a little x

you know the feeling you get in your breasts when your lo cries and you start to leak??should i be having that when hes not crying cos its been happening all day today a lil bit of milk coming out then it stops xx

I'm a bit confused as to why your HV told you NOT to express, usually the advise is to express when you are trying to up  your supply! I can see it's going to be a bit difficult with your hen night and wedding (congratulations by the way) but surely there is a way around it? Can you express while you are on your hennight and the day after? And by the time your wedding comes around your supply will probably be back up to normal, so you might have to express at some point then as well to keep comfortable. A lot of ppl find hand expressing more effective than using a pump. You could just express into a tissue as you aren't going to use the milk anyway. Will there be a room where you can go and expess for a bit, bridesmaid to hand to help with your dress afterwards?

There are lots of things you can do to up your supply, like eating lots of oats, dark chocolate (yummy!) and fenugreek. Most important thing is to let baby suckle as much as possible, so offer breast first, if baby isn't satisfied then top up with formula. Also, again, expressing when you can will send the signal to make more milk.

The other option is obviously to just continue mix feeding. Your LO is obviously used to having both bottle and breast so shouldn't be too much of a problem. You will find that your boobs will feel softer and less full, coz your body is adjusting the supply of milk accordingly.

After going on a nite out and not bf the day after that i found my breasts wernt satisfying lo, wernt leaking wen he cried and didnt feel full, mv/hv suggested that i do not try expressing and just keep lo going on to feed and EVENTUALLY my breast should start working properly again .. they said its going to be hard work but ok i want to giv it a try... but then realised that ive got my hen night in London (i live in wales) on sat,cant express so will have to give formula and in the process will be back in square one...and then if i try again after the hen do then im gettin married 2weeks after so will have to start again..so i think im just going to have to give up in bf which im really gutted about!!
