Hi!
I would say that it does sound like a growth spurt, the timings they give are only estimates. Babies are all different so their growth spurts can happen slightly earlier or later than the books say. Your baby will just be making your milk supply increase to meet it's needs.
You must make sure that you are eating and drinking plenty to give your body the energy it needs to increase the milk.
Oats and dark choc are good for milk production! and you should be eating at least 500 extra calories a day so a bit of choccy here and there is in this situation a good thing

I havent posted on here before so hi everyone, looking for a bit of advice. I have been breastfeeding now for 10 weeks and everything seems to be going well or it was, little one was 6llb 13oz at birth and on the 9th centile she is now 11llb 8oz and on the 50th centile she was gaining great but when she was weighed on wed she had only put on 2 1/2 oz in a week where as she was gaining nearly 8oz a week before this. The last three nights she has been up every two hours feeding whereas before she was going anywhere between 5 and 7 hours as her longs stretch after cluster feeding from around 5 till 9pm. She is teething a bit but this isnt bothering her at night just in the evenings, Im worried about her weight gain or could it just be levelling out and also worried that she is not getting enough or is this the 12 week growth spurt a bit earlier? Can anyone help thanks

Also I wouldn't worry too much about the weight gain. babies can not gain that much one week but then put more on the following week etc.
I would just feed whenever lo wants it, and so long as lo is alert, and having wet and dirty nappies it shouldnt be a problem.
