Hi, DD is now 8 months and we are still BF! It's just soo much easier isnt it, no faffing with bottles lol! I assume you have started weaning your LO onto solids? As soon as DD went on to 3 meals a day she cut down to 4 feeds a day, early morning, midmorning, midafternoon and before bed. She's being a tinker at the moment and waking for feed in the night too but that's another story... Some babies this age are happy with just 2-3 feeds a day tho, so depnding on the hours you work you might be able to work around it.
DD does have the odd formula feed too, coz she wont settle for a bf if there'stoo much going on. Until last week she would have it in a bottle but she has got so good with a cup that I have chucked the bottle out and yesterday when we went for coffee she guzzled 5 oz our of her tommeetippee cup! So I could def try to get your LO onto a cup, he'll need to get onto them soon anyway, just persevere for a few days and he just might surprise you, I know my DD did! There are lots of cups out there, DD preferred the tommeetippee freeflow cups and never got on with the leakproof or variflow ones. HTH xxx

Lots of us are still feeding past 6 months. I'm feeding my 21 month old DS as we are allowing him to self wean. If you look in the threads "so who is planning on letting their LO self wean" and the toddler bf group you will find a lot of ladies who feed for longer than 6 months.
I went back full time when Jack was 8 months old, expressed 3 times a day for him for 6 weeks but at the end of it could only express 2oz in a day. Very demoralising! My actual bf was never really affected so he fed as much as he wanted when I was at home and had one beaker of aptamil 3 8oz when he was with his child minder. He struggled to use bottles but so we used a tommee tippee bottle to beaker training cup with a soft spout that he could bite on.
I hope you find a solution that works for you.

Hi,
Always meant to only bf until 6m and now passed that stage and I stillam mainly cause cant get lo to take formula though havent tried that hard. just find it so much easier. he wont take a cup well yet and dont want to give a bottle cause of his age and hes only ever had about 4 bottles.
anyone still feeding post 6m or got tips about where i could go now. dont like thought of formula but may need to go back to work soonish and dont have kind of job where could express

I am still bf ds who is 7 months and plan to till he is one year. i have tried formula and he will not have any of it and after two months i have to say i have given up he will happily drink loads of water but when i try to swap it with another cup with formula he spits it out. he eats a lot of cheese though. he won't even take ebf from bottle or cup - want the real thing - little rascal! he has a feed in the morning, afternoon and bedtime - wakes up once or twice for a feed.
is it just me or do you find your lo are all over another bf mum? i think they can smell the milk!
