DD seems to know when she has done a wee/poo and asks for a nappy change whenever she does it. She also knows what the potty is for and has asked to sit on it after she has done a wee saying there is still more - but there very rarely is. Occasionally I will notice she has a dry nappy after a couple of hours and she will sit on potty for me, with varying degress of success (i guess if she doesn't need to go she won't!). How do we take it to the next step?
She is nearly 2 1/2 and I have another baby due Sept and would love her to be out of nappies before the next one comes. I know if we don't crack it soon then I might have to wait. Any advice would be gratefully received.

i tried lots of ways but i found i succeded within a couple of days when i let my son choose his big boy pants and made this a big adventure, and then i just completely got rid of nappies (excluding nightime) and i found that he had a couple of accidents, and he decided that he hated to get his pants dirty so he wanted to go on the potty.
(my son was 2 1/2 too) and i think they know what to do, they just need some motivation.
n.b my son did want the toilet every time wed just left the house so i carried the potty round for the first week
hope this helps xx
