so tried again today as he seems to wip his nappy off all the time, but again tried him nappy less for about 2 hours, kept asking him, and didnt need to go.... will try all day tomo and see if we get anywhere this is gonna be tricky lol

i have been potty training my 2 year old ds for about 4 weeks now. The only advise i can give you is stay indoors if you can for first 3-4 days bare bum, then go cold turkey in pants and expect a lot of accidents. My lo is making slow progress. I take a change of clothes with me and a trainer seat where-ever i go. We go on the potty just before we go out, on the trainer seat when we arrive and again before we go again. It takes hard work and a lot of watching your lo for the signs. Just be relaxed and realise that they learn from the accidents. My ds has never had a problem getting it in the potty or the toilet when asked as we let him see us go all the time, and just wanted to copy. x

DD is 19 months and has been using the potty for a while now .. haven't been actily training or anything but wanted to get her used to the toilet n potty so this weekend we went for it.. ptu her in nickers to start off with on friday an only had 1 accident so yesterday t was joggers and nickers and we had 2 accidents but more often than not he'd go to the pott or would dance about so you knew she needed to go.. i'd say just try undies to start n go form there.. i just fold a towel n put that under her when shes sleeping and as soon as shes awake i put her on the potty and so far so good. only prob i have now is she hates weeing in her nappies she keep pulling them off or saying 'OH MAM@ hen she does wee or poo in them lol.. good luck

Yes would agree with just put them in pants and see what happens, this is my 3rd attempt with our DS started at 2 and he is now 2.5 this time we have success, the first day we had more wet pants then dry, the next day was a little better and so on and so forth. We are now 3 weeks in and he now takes himself off for a wee and tells me he has been in his potty.
Surprisingly and not uncommon is poo is a big problem - no progress so far so dont dispare if you get the wee cracked and the poo takes alot longer - very common.
Good luck !

yer i think we're gonna start soon, aiden is 2 1/2 tomo.. i think what we're gonna do is have him with no nappy on for the day at home and just ask him every 5-10 what ever mins does he need a wee poo etc... and go from there..
we shall see how that goes, he knows when his nappy is full as he takes it off and says 'change' to me lol.. so i think it is time to start x

hi there just wanted to say that i've just started my little girl and i didn't really know where to begin but she's older and will b 3 next month as i tried last year but she just wasn't ready, all i've done is just put knickers on her when we're indoors and a little pair of shorts and she tells me when she needs to go! i know its not much advice but i'd say just go for it with pants on him if he's not ready then leave it and try again in a few months,
sorry its a long one but hth

Hellooooo
My ds will be 2 i august so assuming I should start him on potty soon especially as have 10 day old dd now as well.
Where do I start? People keep saying look for signs he may need toilet and take him to it but he doesnt give any sign until after when he looks at me and says poo lol any advice ?
thanks in advance x

I started off the same as you my son loved running around with nothing on after about a week he started going to the potty but i had to bring it to him cause he didn't like the bathroom! now he is wearing pants and even goes short journeys without wetting himself he is now two and a half and doing really well i have found that not rushing him and giving him lots of praise and encouragment has done wonders!
