Yes my DS started to point it down with his hand as well. It was sometimes going over the top of the Boots one if he wasn't on right so me telling him to make sure it stayed in was enough to make him think of it all by himself! He has just started standing up at the toilet recently, but I wouldn't want to risk him standing at the potty!

My LO is a large child for his age (he's 2 1/2 but is in age 3-4 clothes) and so I've found potties and toilets seats a problem with him fitting on them. I've found you do have to position a boy more than a girl on the potty, but LO now points his winky downwards so he doesn't wee everywhere. At first I had to help him a little by pointing it downwards for him so he didn't wee all over his legs, after a couple of days he got the idea and managed to do it himself. He stood up to wee the other day into his potty and actually aimed it correctly - he looked alittle strange, but managed to get his wee into the potty.

I found this with a Tescos one, but have now got a Boots cheapo one which is a much better shape - it is less round and more oval shaped

I'm just at the stages of introducing my ds to the potty. He knows what it is and will sit on it without his nappy on, but not doing anything at this stage. However I have noticed that the potty is quite small and his bottom only just fits on and often despite having the raised bit at the front, his willie is hanging over the front. Any ideas of where I can get a bigger one? I don't want the poor mite to start to use the potty only to have his wee go on the floor anyway and him get all upset because he thinks he'd done it wrong.

I have a big one, but I cannot remember where I got it from. I think Wilkinsons do a oval shape one that is quite high at the front.
