make it fun, i found using an alarm was the best way, I know it sounds a bit odd but really worked for my dd. I started by settin the alarm every 30-45 mins, when it went off we cheered and got all excited about it bein toilet/potty time and if she sat on the potty/toilet but didn't go i still told her she was a good girl and kissed her, if she went to the toilet she obviously got more praise and if she poo'd she got a treat, either a choccie or a story or some milk. After a couple of days they time between the alarm got longer and after about 4 days she was going on her own without the alarm.
The other really important thing i found is all tho she has been trained for about 6 months i still praise her know so that she doesn't slip back into bein lazy cos she thinks it doesn't matter.
HTH a little and good luck

A small selection of books or toys to keep him entertained when on the toilet. (And remove the toilet roll so thats out of sight and temptation) If your going straight for the toilet you might need a step or box to enable him to get up. Emmm and good luck!!

DS is 2 1/2 and I am planing to start toilet training tomorrow afternoon once I finish work. This will give me Friday afternoon and then Saturday-Wednesday, inclusive, until I am back to work for a full day and he is back to nursery - so hoping to crack it in that time. He's not interested in his potty so its straight to toilet - he has sat and peed and knows when he needs so I'm hoping is completely ready to ditch the nappies. Any top tips to help me on my mission?!!!
