My DS is 2.5 and as I have a week off work with him this week I thought I'd tackle potty training. We've had a potty around for a while and he's OK about sitting on it and I thought the main problem would just be lots of accidents. This morning I said "we are going to use the potty today" and he said "OK mummy" and sat on it (didn't do anything). However when I tried to put pants on him he wasn't having any of it! After a while of trying to persuade him to look like daddy/aren't these Thomas pants fantastic etc.. I gave up and put a nappy on as he was getting really upset. Didn't mention it again for a while but the next time we went into his bedroom the first thing he said was "don't need pants mummy"! Does this mean I should leave it a while? I don't want to force him and end up creating more problems but we'll have to start some time?

Give him more time hun, i know how upsetting it can be. My ds2 was 3 in may and still in nappies (pull ups) and he has also just started school. He will used the toilet and his potty at home and will actually wear his thomas pants but i sent him to school last monday wiv his pants on and sent him wiv a spare set of clothes. When i picked him up he had wet himself but they put his spare set of clothes on which he had on the the rest of the day (we went shopping and then home) and he never wet himself once. I think boys are lazier, got 3 of them now, lol. He will get there eventually just like my lo one will.
Good luck
