Thanks for the advice  i just thought my dh was being a lazy git as its me that does most of the nappy changes, so if hes potty trained he won't have any to change for def!

But yeah thanks, will try it.

Hi, my ds is 12 mths in 2 weeks and does all his poos on the pot already, am sooo glad i started early training!! No more yukky nappies for me! Theres a good book on ealry potty training cant remember the author tho sorry, just google early potty training. Basically what they say to do is sit your baby on the pot first thing in morn and night, and 10 mins before and after meal to see if 'catch anything.' No they dont have bladder control but the idea is u potty train in reverse order, so by the time they have bladder control etc they already know what to do. Somene on here told me she trained her 2 boys at 9 mths anf they were dry by 14 and 15 mth so can be done just takes more patince. And my ds does know what the potty is. If he wants to go (he normally needs to when hes in highchair for some reason) he wirggles and tries to get out, i bring pot over to him and he reaches it and toots, then i put him on it and he goes. He also if i try to take him off and he hasnt finished sits back down! Also if i sit him on it and he doesnt wanna go he gets right off, so does know to some extent. I asked my hv if it was too early and she said she thought it was brill if he didnt mind doing it. Just give it a try, if your lo doesnt wanna sit on pot then try again in another mth etc. Im so hoping he'll be dry by 18 mths will save on nappies! Good luck!

My ds is 16months and i havent started trying yet.  They dont even have bowel control until around 18 months old.  I am thinking of buying a potty soon though and putting it in the bathroom where he can see it just so he knows what one looks like before i whack him on it!! x x x x

I think you will know when your child is ready to potty train. your lo is the same age as my ds and I wouldn't do it yet (personally) as I don't think he is ready.

Doing it just because your dp wants to would be a bad idea lol. Tell him he will need to deal with nappies a bit longer lol. I think it is usually around 2-3 for starting, but obviously all are different x

All dh says is well the quicker he starts going on the pot, you won't have to change his smelly nappies then will ya!
