I don't tend to buy special baby food so I just use the low salt gravy granules - bisto with a blue lid or most supermarkets do their own versions too. As for cheese sauce, I just make it from scratch - dead easy...butter, flour, milk, cheese! Yum!!

i just use normal stuff and water it down alot thats all, my son seems to like the ahh bisto cheese sauce, just one tsp not tbsp and 1/2-1 pint of boiling water and mix it in with food, but on a little bit of it as other wise goes like soup i just add so much water to granules so that its not too strong. sorry if people think im doing wrong but dont see the point in buying special baby gravy as its only w eaker version of the normal stuff so i just make it weak. im just tight on the old purse strings really dont like spending money while i have it.

There is an organic veg stock cube that you can buy that has less salt than the baby gravys to make your own sauce or gravy. V. cheap and can be found next to the oxos. Can't remember the name, but begins with a k.

Oh I can't find them either and no you're not tight - they're expensive.  I used to use the granules with my dd but she's now 6!  Glad someone mentioned about freezing those pouches, I wasn't sure so thanks for the info.  PS - please let me know if you find any!

hi,  just in process of weaning my lo and doing really well!!  My question is with my eldest 3 i used to buy baby gravy and cheese sauce granules but my local shops no longer stock them (boots etc!!) Just wondered apart from the pouches of ready made stuff has anyone seen the granules anywhere??  The pouches are expensive (or am i just tight, lol!) and it doesnt say you can freeze it once mixed with food.  Anyway, i ramble, cheers!! x
