The beaba baby cook really is worth every penny, even when baby is older (as someone here says) you can quickly make up sauces etc, and it's useful for steaming small portions at any age, and better than microwave for defrosting.

I bought one of the stick type blenders from Argos, and it was about £12. I've only had it 2 weeks and its died already. I think I'll just get one of the £5 ones next time.

I was given one by my sister that our dad had got her when my niece was weaning. It's great because it steams aswell and blends the food down. It's green and I cant for the life of me think what brand it is. I'm not at home at the moment lol.

i also had the £5 blender from tesco on my first lo but found it messy and hard graft as bits squirt out at you(unless you do it in a deep jug) and you need a bit of elbow grease

On second lo bought a proper blender £25 from Tesco and its fantastic you can do everything with it and it comes apart easily and washes easily definitely money well spent.

My ds is only 11 weeks so haven't used it yet..but we bought a hand-held blender from Tesco which cost £5...and does the job just as well as the more expensive ones!! (I worked in a nursery for 10 years and this is what we had there - that's how I know!!

I bought a kenwood hand blender this weekend as I started weaning Logan on monday & I think it's fab.

I used it straight away and had great fun making first tastes foods to freeze. It makes LO's purees really smooth. I've also used it for my smoothies & chopping veg as well.

It's also half price in currys at the moment (£19.99 from £39.99!!). I got mine from comet as currys near me didn't have any in stock but comet price match within 10 miles so I checked online & the other currys store (4 miles from my home) had them in so saved me a journey!

If you go on currys website it's a kenwood hb655.

I got a small electric blender in asda for around £16 (in the baby section near the bottles, beakers, plates, etc). It's a Lindam one but you get basically the same one in Toys R Us too. It's great - just the right size and I actually use it for making things for us now too lol I had the same one with DD1 but gave it to someone so ended up buying another one! DD2 is 7 1/2 months now - she basically eats what we eat and she's been eating lumpy food for a while so I actually haven't had to use the blender for a while now but as it was only £16 I don't feel like I've wasted much money a I've probably already had my money's worth out of it and I'll keep using it to make curry paste, dip and other random things for us that aren't worth using the big blender for!

I bought the BEABA Babycook which is quite expensive at about £50.  But he is now 2 1/2 and I still get it out so it has had ALOT of use!  It can defrost food, steam it until cooked and then blend to the desired consistency.   It was great for all the purees at the beginning and then when he was eating normal food, it's great as a steamer so you don't have to get your great big one out and if you need to whizz up breadcrumbs for stuff later on it's good for that too.  A great buy!
