You could go for the easy option which would be to bake a large rectangular sponge, then cut out a simple train shape. You could then decorate it with different coloured icing and other bits like buttons etc. So far for my los I have made a hedgehog, rabbit, pink cottage, Ariel and Bobby the giraffe which is dd's favourite toy! None have been fantastic but they have at least been recognisable!!
PROBABLY NOT THE RIGHT FORUM TO ASK BUT I REALLY WANT TO MAKE MY SON'S BIRTHDAY CAKE THIS YEAR AND FOR HIM A FIRE ENGINE OR TRACTOR WOULD BE FAB. BUT I DONT KNOW WHERE TO START. CAN ANYONE HELP A NOVICE????
