i make spag bol thats healthy!!! using lean mince, get the pan(non stick) quite hot and put the mince in without oil as the oil from the meat will start to come out, it may look like it will stick but after a min or so the oil will appear! put in  chopped onion, garlic clove (or 2 finley chopped), tin of chopped toms, touch of salt and pepper, haf  teas spn of mixed herbs,a dash of red wine vinegar, dash of woustershire(sp?) sauce, turn heat up to almost like the sauce will bubble and then down a little bit (just to let it reduce and thicken). and its nice with a little bit off fresh basil on top!!! i serve it with wholemeal pasta!! hope this helps with it not being a jar its has les salt sugar and saturated fats in!! you can make a huge batch and freeze also!!!!

Its generally easier to stick to changing your favourites rather than taking on a whole new diet.  For example, replace mince with Quorn mince or turkey mince, no creamy sauces or use low fat alternatives of yoghurt, quark, etc.  Fry using an oil spray and bulk meals up with beans and vegetables, reducing the meat content.
