I'd recommend buying some of those foil takeaway containers to freeze stuff in as they are the right size for a portion and stack well in the freezer.  Make big batches of bolognese sauce, chilli, stews, casseroles, soups.  Make sure you have frozen veg in (healthier than fresh generally anyway) plus a stock of things like garlic bread and parbaked rolls, as well as sliced bread, crumpets etc.  We eat pasta bakes for convenience on days I work, the ones where you add the sauce to uncooked pasta - Homepride or Asda do them.  They were really handy after I had ds.

I freeze most things!  Spag bol, chilli, curry, cottage pie, pies, sweet & sour, yorky puds (I make a big batch and then just warm them through in the oven on roast days), think I froze lasagne when pregnant, casseroles, cooked meats. The list is pretty much endless.

Be a good idea to blanche some fresh veggies and freeze them too, saves time later on and you still get all the goodness from them.  Freeze bread & milk too, it'll save sending dp out in the early days.

I wish i'd of thought of this when I was pregnant but next time, i'm going to schedule a shopping delivery from Tesco for a couple of days after we get home.  I remember running out of stuff and not being able to get more, nightmare!

Sorry for the essay, good luck with the birth

    Hi ladies,

I'm starting maternity leave next week and want to fill my freezer with some tasty dinners for dh and myself.  i remember seeing a thread on here ages ago about recipes you can freeze but have had no luck finding it again.

Any ideas on practical meals i could also freeze would be very much appreciated.

Thank you, Tizz 36+4 with baby#1
