If you're at work all day then make it the night before and just reheat when you get home the next day - the flavour will be better then anyway. Chop your veg (carrots, swede, leeks, parsnip, onion etc) into roughly equal sized pieces and fry in a little oil or butter. Coat your meat in flour and add to the pan and cook until done on outside. Add some stock and stir well, and either turn down heat and simmer until meat is tender or transfer dish to oven if it can be.

p.s . a slow cooker would definatley be a worth while investment especially when your at work all day,its surprising what meals you can do in one!

easiest way would be get a packet sauce, beef or chicken casserole put in a oven proof dish made up to instructions put whatever veg you want in it along with some meat that has been browned off in a pan then bung it in the oven for 3/4 to 1hr.most of the packets have a recipe on them, either that or replace packet sauce with stock cube(oxo type) and some gravy mix.if you do it the night before you can reheat in microwave or in the oven for 1/2 hr.hth xx

i am such a rubbish cook! i need to get some veg into my ds can someone please tell me how to cook chicken casserole and beef casserole please ( i dont have a slow cooker and work full time ) would be affraid to leave it on in the house while i wasnt there thanks so much x

Casseroles are probably one of the easiest things to make, you can chuck whatever you want in it, onions, carrots, suede, potatoe, celery etc.. add some stock, dosnt have to be fresh stock.. some oxo cubes would do, and shove it in the oven for and hour or so.. if you put meat in it, just brown the meat 1st in a pan... casseroles normaly keep for a couple days in the fridge and in my opinion they taste much nicer after a day or two.. serve with crusty bread, yum!! xx
