Lidl are selling off the old farleys tins at £4.68 so its the same price it was in asda/tesco, but at least you can get it and its not £8.98

Both my dd's have been on farleys since birth (although dd1 is 2 and is no longer on it) but ive loved it, i went and bought this new nurture (before knowing the price increase as it wasnt on the shelf i had to ask for it) and some nurture cartons and i gave dd2 a carton as i thought it was the same milk and she was really sick for that whole night. I have since gone to Lidl and bought 6 tins of Farleys to last her to when she's on cows milk but im due #3 in Dec and was going to use Farleys then but am really not sure as i now have a tin and a few cartons of nurture which dd2 will not have and i think im going to have 4 spare tins of Farleys as dd2 seems to have dropped her bottles!

I havent had my baby yet but i cannot understand why theyve done this. Yes they have a profit to make, but surely they must know thousands of babies are fed on this and mums rely on it.
I cant understand why they just didnt keep the old product untouched and launch a new formula, as this is what theyve basically done. They should be ashamed.

Just read this and I agree. My twins were on farley's and since they changed to nurture they have done nothing but cry. I spoke to our hv weho advised they have seen a few babies who have had this reaction to the new formula. Even after ringing the helpline (I got no responce to my email!) they said the price increase is fair! One of the reasons is they have changed the tin and added a extra bit of plastic to help level of the extra powder and a holder for the scoop in the lid rather than it being in the powder!
I wont be buying anymore and are changing the milk once this last tin run's out.

It's not just a new name and packaging, the formula is completely different as they've added some fancy stuff to make babies have runnier poos. Might as well change to a different brand that's a little cheaper.

This has made me angry also at £4.64 a tin yes they were committed to fair prices but now I have seen it at £7.99 a jar
I cannot believe this so much for their new name and packaging we will end up paying for it.

oh well i might not bother calling at the clinic as i'm not on benefits :-(
i did manage to find a few tins of farleys in a small chemist not far from my hometown today but i bought the last few tins they said lidl have large stocks still in their stores though

they will only sell it to you at the clinic if you are on benefits, and its only about 30p a tin cheaper to be honest.

just a thought....
does anyone have a baby clinic or health centre near by because you can buy your formula milk from them and its cheaper than in any shops think its sold profit free through the nhs i'll be callng in at mine next week o i'll let you know the outcome

I phoned the farleys helpline number and they offered to send me two tins for free as I couldnt get any. they arrived the next day. However if you check the supermarket for the replacement its called heinz nurture and its £8.98, compared to £4.98 - yep a £4 increase. we will be switching to sma over the next few weeks, but I have heard that is going up to. I did manage to get some from boots by ordering it but it was £6.25 a tin - still better than 8.98?!

Theres a large thread on 0-3 about farleys everyone is waiting for replys from farleys heinz ,it seems the ladies who did receive a reply were asked to phone the heinz helpline - also some ladies are now emailing watchdog i will be doing this too as i haven't had a reply from heinz i emailed them last week. the milk in my local store has almost double - cant beleive it's the most expensive one now, talk about one extreme to the other i give them full marks fro robbery! WELL DONE HEINZ
i wont be buying anymore of your products i have six children and i beleive babymilk should always be priced reasonable as it's a necessity and i cannot breast feed for medical reasons so why should i be forced to pay this over the top price?

I bet you are annoyed, I went to Tesco today and had a look to see if they have the cartons and couldnt believe it when i saw the price of it now, are you ladies writing into heinz to complain, the reason I initally checked with you guys about Farleys was because of the cost and they way things are going this year Im on a total budget so Farleys was ideal at under a fiver a tin, but over £8 quid is ridiculous.

i am disgusted!!!!
today i went to the supermarket tobuy my nrmal 1st milk formula and because farleys has changed it name and packaging it's gone up in price by almost £3 - it's just dam right robbery!!! it's now the most expensiv milk on the shelf even aptimal is cheaper.
i'm so annoyed i have used this milk for 5 of my 6 children and i've always found it the best - nice and gentle on their tummys, i knew they were changing the packaging but i didn't expect the price to increae this much it's just day light robbery so much for the commited to fai price policy b******s!!!!!!!
so to rant but i'm so angry

Ive used nothing but Farleys for both my dd's and will be using it for number 3 too. I put on my birth plan with both that i wanted their first feed to be farleys.
I know they are re-branding to Heinz nurture and i rang Heinz up to ask when they are putting the new stock in supermarkets and they told me that all the new stock has been sent out and should be on the shelves this week. She said that Sainsburys and Asda have definetly got their orders out on the shelves and they are also doing the cartons wherever they sell the tins as i found ot very difficult to get the cartons and had to order trays of them in from my local boots!

Sequin,thats ridculous..they dont understand some babies wont take anything else!...Im mad now I know that!! Im gonna have to go bulk buy some tins of it!! Or my baby will be sick and unsettled for a few weeks!

My LO is on Farleys. Just to let you know they are re-branding the product and are therefore not sending out any of the old stock to the stores so once they run out thats it! The new stock is due to arrive in the stores in the next couple of weeks.
I cant believe that they have allowed the old stock to run out before the new stock arrives, they clearly have no idea how important it is that our LO's have the same milk!

12 weeks ago when I had my baby,i had no problems getting the cartons,however this week ive been to sainsburys,tesco,asda,boots and toys r us,and all were out of stock.. Im finding it increasingley difficult to get hold of the first milk for some reason!

I've seen cartons in most supermarkets so you should be able to get them fairly easily. I didn't plan on using Farley's with dd, started out on C&G and had to chop and change a few times until she was put on soya formula by the GP. It was a little gentler on her tummy than C&G but she needed a milk free formula so we were prescribed one.

Do you find it easy to find the little carton's aswell, Im wanting to make life a bit easier in the first week by using the ready made carton ones, and Cow and Gate do them bottles like they give you in hospital but I didnt want to use that again.
I did also notice Farleys was a good price, I dont want to just be giving baby the cheapest milk coz we are on a budget I wanted to make sure its as good as the others.
Did you know before you had your babies you were going to use Farleys? Im a bit stuck on when we go into hospital, I cant remember after having DS if there was a choice of milk they offered or am I going to have to take milk in with me with sterilised bottles...?

Hi Ladies,
Im expecting my 2nd child in August, and wondering what milk to try, I did use Cow & Gate for my DS but thinking about a change, has anyone using Farleys had any problems?
