Yes MAM bottles do take up a lot of room in the steriliser but this isn't a problem for me because i make my bottles up in batches of 2, so theres enough room.
I used Avent bottles but switched after the BPA scare
i have an Avent steriliser and my MAM bottles fit in my steriliser
Thanks ladies for your views I think for now i will stick to avent as ds never had probs and they are also bringing out BPA free bottles latter this year with MAM it has put me off slightly if i can't fit all 6 in my sterliser
Thanks once again
i am MAM bottles all the way... i love mine.. my ds has been happy with them to.. i also loke an op use the tommiee tippiee sterliser and i can fit all 6 in that... i think they are very easy to clean do to the fact the come in to bits .... i use a normal washing up sponge on mine (one with a anti strach scouer?sp on it...
I use the Avent bottles and have no inclination to change because of the scare. HV states that no enquiry undertaken in this country only US and before it got into the papers the Health Authorities in this country had not been notified.
She also pointed out that if there was a slight risk it would only occur if you put boiling water into your bottle and as you are meant to wait for 30 mins before putting CBW in bottle not probs should arise.
Plus Avent bottles easy to clean and anti colic.
HTH
just noticed that when using the Mam bottles, there is a very strong plastic smell and taste to water that is poured in the bottle and i think it is because of the rubber seal in the bottom part of the bottle. anybody else noticed this??
Whoops, don't know what happened there.
Hi
I really like MAM bottles as well, we needed new ones as dd bottles were starting to get scratched. I like the fact that they are BPA free too. I am using the Ulivent ones as they are anti-colic and my dd really suffered but seems fine on these. As the previous posters have said once you have mastered them they don't leak when screwed together properly. I have to agree with what was said about getting the lids off though they can be quite hard but that is the only negetive thing about them.

Hi, I used avent with my first dd, but wanted to try Mam this time round cause of the BPA. I think they are really good, they do leak if you don't screw the bottoms on properley, but other than that they're fine. My dd gets on really well with them, and I think the anti colic part is good too, she hasn't suffered at all. I've got the avent steriliser which holds 6 bottles, but can only fit 3 Mam bottles in at a time, due to the extra parts. Also, I'd go for the bigger sized bottles, don't think the smaller ones would last you very long, think they only go up to 5 ounces or something.
i recently switched to the Mam bottles from tommee tippee closer to nature because of the BPA scare. i wasnt bothered at first but it stayed in my mind so i switched to stop me worrying! i really like the Mam bottles, i find they dont leak and the anti colic bottom part seems to work really well (it might take a couple of uses for it to work properly). yes there are more parts to clean, but they are not fiddly parts ans are easy to clean. the only thing i dont like is the caps are quite hard to get off. apart from that they are great. dont know about them fitting in the steriliser, i use a tommee tippe one they fit fine in it xxx
As the title says (sorry i know this has been done before)
With ds i used avent and had no probs at all i'm happy to use again but they still contain the BPA, i also know if they were really unsafe they would be removed from the self.
However MAM do not contain BPA and was wondering are they good i.e leak proof, plus do they fit into the avent sterliser unit and are they easy to clean., like avent ones (don't like dr browns as they look to annoying to clean). And are they anti colic like the avent ones. One plus point i like abot this one is the pink bottles. Sorry one more question if so for MAM which model as i think there are at least two
Thanks in advance for your help and advice.

If your worried about the ultivent bottles taking up space in your steriliser then why not get the MAM Decorated bottles? you can get them on their website, i've ordered some. They look the same and the only difference is they don't unscrew at the bottom so there won't be so many parts to put in your steriliser, i'm buying them for my daughter because now shes 6 months shes not at risk of getting colic.x
