Best of luck eloise. I hope you get accepted.
To the person who said they do not know how to go about it, it all depends on what qualifications you have. Have a look on your local university website, see if they do the midwifery course and then see what entry requirements they have. If you already have the entry reuirements then you just need to apply at the university which does the course. If you do not then you need to go to college to get qualifications which are needed to get onto the course. The quickest way is by doing an Access to Health and Social care which is a year long. Most college's do this course.
Best of luck everyone.

thought i would just say that if you are sending off your application late ur meant to phone the universities to see whether they accept late applications some don't , girl in my class had too she had a change in mind and decided she wanted to apply for the 08 intake
every1 keep each other updated on how its going xxxx

hello agen, yes im aware of the conversion being cut but its not being stopped at all places, plus we wanna move to america so i will do it over there.
what i meant about the op sending her app after was that most unis dont take kindly to late applications to courses that are so competative to get into. i just didnt want to offend her by saying so. i really do wish you all the best of luck in your applications.

Forgot to mention.. when I was at college most people were supremely slow at getting their applications in, one girl I know applied for medicine 2 months after the closing date and still got in to UCL so there is a chance I could get an interview, even if it is only a small chance. You never know unless you try do you

The closing date on ucas is the 15th I know that but they still do accept applications after that date. I'm not holding out for getting in this year dont get me wrong, but they might still interview me for a place next year and that would be fine too. I'd just go back to work in the meantime.
Still I can only hope

charz do you know that they are stopping the 18th month conversion course within the next 2-3 years?
and to your post the cut off date for ucas was the 15th jan and the op said she had sent hers after that so i didnt quite get that bit either also without being rude!

Following from the where will you be in 10 years time thread....
I've noticed quite a lot of us are thinking about or heading towards a career in midwifery... i've just applied for a course at nottingham university.
Where are you all studying/planning to study?
How far have you got?
I thought this might be a good place to pool our knowledge, get to know each other and help each other along the way to becomming a midwife.
Good luck girls, lucking forward to hearing from you

Also forgot to say the NHS funds the course so it doesnt cost as much as you would think, plus you get bursarys (sp?)
Just pop along to both college and university, they will give you all the details there and possibly give you an interview. Then can even sometimes provide child care if you prove your income and show you can not afford to pay for it.
Best of luck again everyone.
